with the power of the internet, a lot of things can be found out there, but every once in a while, it's nice to have someone guide your path...
that said... I can't really give a detailed guide, as I am also a noob, so I'll just leave this thing that I found somewhere on the internet.
The grind... is real. 💪
This reminds me of that guy that speedrunned all the darksouls back to back, no hits. then got hit by the last boss of darksouls 3 on his 1st attempt.
Then he came back and won it on his second attempt, I think. 😅
Quick question, why did you choose older games as your first things to speedrun? 🤔
That said, maybe it's easier to speedrun PS1 horror games, or even boardgames, but if you're the only one who speedrunned the game first, I think you have to be the one to set the rules.

I wish there was a userscript or extension out there that could help in forum posting here, although I travel across many forums and quoting here does not give a notif at all. (I think? I might be mistaken.)
I can type in lengthy things with all sorts of obscure code formats, although sometimes I think a WYSIWYG editor could be better around here. 😅

I wish we could play doom on all unsupported computer machines, like the original one. I wish we could have a real dungeon crawl.
I wish we were going to be able to play those games, but we haven't played them.
When I play games like Doom and the Portal. We played it on the Macintosh, but I still don't know our game history.

Doom is the most popular single-player, non-linear FPS in modern history.

But we do. It was pretty hard to get to. There's kind of no way for something like that to ever work out.
What's the point?
We haven't been on Steam yet, so there's no way to play. We were in the same room, just off the main floor, waiting for the PC to download all of our demos and start playing, so we lost track of time so the PC couldn't play and we were actually quite late with our setup. But the game started playing very quickly.
And that's a fun little adventure.
And what did it tell you about the way that this platform-based open game is really going to work?
Yeah, it didn't tell me a lot about the story. That's the only thing I knew at the time.
