most likely due to the fact that there is a large amount of these sorta games already here and they wish to cut back on the amount of fan style games that are like I said similar to I wanna be the Guy or even Boshy. Just because its a game and you did a run of it doesn't necessarily mean it gets added From what I understand they want to limit the amount of flash, fan and parody games etc. Just too many of them lately and not many people even run a majority of them compared to actual official released games with actual publishing. It's nothing more then quality control, hence why Content mods were added as well to help manage qaulity of content on the site and help improve existing content where necessary.
Alright So just a heads up on a few changes to the boards IL's will pretty much remain as is but Collectibles and the new Legacy categories will be added/move to the full game boards as this will make things simpler for things going forward. There will be some tweaks to how IL's are presented and set up some I will address those changes separately afterwards.
Ultimately we will be looking at streamlining the board for IL's and Full boards, this will not fix how ugly looking at all IL's is as thats a site limitation but It will function the same if not better.
Expect these changes in the new few weeks or so when my free to clears up going into the new year.
If you have and suggests or questions please let me and the others know.
I have someone I know that runs a store that If we want to have Magic be something people play I can ask him about getting that to be a possibility if NASA wants to help support that, also could invite him down as a vendor as he owns a whole card/comics and collectibles store so he could have some stuff that many people would be interested in provided we are still in around the Toronto area or similar as they would be coming from Hamilton region.
Allot more work and hopefully worth while to others that wish to be part of the growth, other then that not much different from anyone else. It's just extra work to take care of in between normal stuff when you got the time to spare, if not then just don't do it, doesn't mean you can't contribute the same way you'd just not be verifying runs or managing the board.
Avermedia works fine with OBS provided you use the proper settings aka Engine that allows it capture in OBS. I use the latest Avermedia card and its basically plug and play, keeping in mind this is only good for capturing consoles.
Lego Worlds - insane height glitch can be used to skip allot of traversing and climbing to and from areas.
I found this during some casual messing around and ended up causing a very interesting thing to happen where you can sling shot your self high into the air.
ugh.......... why would you even want to use non standard controllers meant for other systems in the first place. why not just get a controller that is multi-functional if they exist that you like? Use N64 on N64, Use PS1 and PS2 on PS1 or PS2. etc, that is what they were designed for and support.
ARPGME is looking to be in MAY this coming year. I'm working with people to redesign the marathon and will be looking at having it run a week instead of over just a weekend. Submissions will open up a few months before hand and will run in waves, meaning that if a run doesn't get in previous submission periods then you can resubmit it.
Current Agenda:
- Marathon redesign which includes a new logo and thematic design.
- new submission guidelines and rules to help narrow and expand the variety of accepted submissions.
- volunteer and direct involvement positions which will also require a submission and screening process.
- and more.
If you are interested in ARPGME as a runner or as possible volunteer etc stay connected with us and be sure to check when things unfold for the event. I appreciate all the support and people that were involved, submitted and ran during last year's event.
Thank you for making it possible.
Very much Agree with @furrywulfz , and have had my experience with community changing but that does seem off if that was the case @Buffet_Time .
Attempted a 100% FF8 run long while back got 8 hrs in and could not finish it, do not have that much time anymore to do runs much longer then 4 or 5 hrs. But I am looking at doing Legaia runs and I've already started on the runs for the first 3rd of the game which is around 2-3hrs. Currently I run OG NieR which is roughly 4hrs for Any% and maybe at some point All Endings which is estimated close to 10hrs. as for as the runs mentioned I still mostly run games that take at least and Hour or more to do, but smaller stuff would be nice if I find something.
No offense but Twin Galaxies is not really regarded very highly as it use to be because of allot of drama drummed up from you guys in the past. If this is indeed something your looking into why not just actually for once do research and personally contact people of interest instead of getting people to do all the work for you. We generally all do things differently here as a collaborative set of many different communities of games and work towards a more common goal in which we test our love and endurance of playing games as fast as we can as a learning and self competitive experience more so then just a social competitive one.
and just because you guys say you've been around 40 years or whatever amount of actual time it has been means very little to anyone outside your special little secluded place due to past experience many of us may have had including myself.
But do feel free to explore and take notes or whatever you may be wanting to actually accomplish but maybe you should more appropriately deal with the the communities of people rather then just individuals.
One possibility I am looking into that could end up as a separate thing or an addition to ARPGME if we were to have the event stretch longer was to have tournament runs for selected games in between the regular schedule or as a separate thing between actual marathons possibly on a more regular basis as well. Of course this would need community support from those games as well to make them happen.
On the other side more just for ARPGME is that we are looking at having the Marathon much sooner then before and also longer then just a weekend. Would like to hear more from others about the possibility or things we may have not considered or just hear your general thoughts on anything related.
something that was brought to my attention for ARPGME if we were to do it again.
- Possibly look at making game selection a bit more true focused on ARPG's some where possibly very hard to justify being in the marathon on that standpoint. I can say that the stand was very loose on the ARPG theme perhaps we only look at the event as actually being named Awesome Role Playing Games Marathon Event instead for the future, unless we tighten up the submission and acceptance guidelines. I rather see more submissions and games then less so on this I rather not lean heavy on the Action Heavily as much in the future?
Give me your thoughts on this if any?
still needs some refinement and spellchecking but good start imo, i'm rather terrible to explain things kinda a curse for me.
I would say go for it as some other may not be aware of things and would be good too share stuff that may not be so obvious in run videos alone. No harm in doing it provided that you wish to create some informative content in which could be informative and or useful as we dont really have much that explains strats during runs atm.
I'll be starting to roll out the full leaderboard switch soon as well as legacy clears, which will use total igt among all levels. Besides looking nicer to view it will be more functional to see and submit runs.
IL board will remain active till the other board is finished and runs are moved to it.
in order to maximize not only performance but also quality you can aim for 720 output even if your down scaling with even a low bit rate of 1k or less can be sufficient and qaulity enough provided you maintenance a decent level in which more people can view the content and be pleased with it.
