Hello,

First and foremost, I'm thrilled that 1CC runs were finally approved as a category, because they're really cool runs that offer a great alternative to the mutant power strats of Any%.

However, the requirement to show difficulty is a bit taxing. I have perfectly good runs that I would like to submit for each category, but they're archived and don't have the difficulty featured.

So my question is, is the rule really that necessary? If so, it should be fairly easy to discern difficulty by comparing enemy count to other runs, but while I'd like to submit these runs to your leaderboards, I have no interest in running them again just for the sake of showing difficulty, especially when the times on these runs are quite good.

If that's a final ruling for the sake of having a ruling, then I don't think I have anything left to appeal. But I am willing to offer these as good initial benchmarks for each respective category, if you'll have them.

Thanks for your time.

Hello,

I have a concern to raise regarding a game that I alone moderate. A situation has started regarding said game in the forums, and I could really use some assistance or guidance if any could be provided.

Thanks for any time and attention provided.

Hi. I'm a moderator for DD1 and something was brought to my attention. It appears that both of SerpenSR's top times in these two games appear to be offline, which means both games have WR times without videos. If any mod wants to respond, this will likely need to be resolved.

My current philosophy is "no vid, no did," which would eliminate both of the times until they're resubmitted (assuming they would be), but if others have a different suggestion, I wouldn't mind hearing it. Thoughts, anyone?

Hey, everyone! Thanks to the awesome might of RottDawg and Garadas, the 360 version now has its own leaderboard. We felt this version deserved its own board due to some of the timing differences that are present in contrast to the original arcade PCB/emulator, plus the fact that dip switches can't be toggled and that every setting is set to default. Feel free to submit your runs here!

Hello! At the suggestion of an up-and-coming runner, I've taken the opportunity to develop a tutorial for running this game.

Kentucky, USALRock6175 years ago

I know I've requested 1CC categories in other games, but this time I come prepared with a video to start the category, at least. This also has the benefit of containing a great glitch in Stage 2 that saves 30 seconds, so it can be used in Any% as well. The final time per Avidemux was a 22:22.

Can we make this a thing?

It looks like this was touched on in a thread this past year, so I'm looking to ask about it again. If there's any consideration to this being added given how different the run is, that could be really cool. I even have a run ready to add that was played on the 2P JP ROM with a time of 31:xx.

It doesn't look like there have been any requests made for this in the past, so I'll be the first: is it possible to have a board created for the arcade version of Batman Forever? It's playable on MAME, plus it was ported to the Playstation and Saturn. I do 1CC runs of the arcade version via emulator and it would be cool to see players come up with some speed strats. There could also potentially be separation for runs of Batman and runs of Robin, since they both play so differently.

Thoughts? Considerations?

I just watched GJJJGJJJ's 2nd place Any% run, and considering the fact that it's Deathless, shouldn't it also be added as the WR for that misc. category? It contains a lot of relevant strats that other players can use, not to mention the fact that it's almost 7 minutes faster than the only other recorded run.

I believe this was asked in the past following the removal, but I feel it needs to be reviewed: why were the 1CC categories removed for this game and for TMNT arcade?

Good afternoon! For the upcoming MAMEcathlon event on RGLTV, I decided to put together a tutorial for the speedrun of this game (death abuse and all). I've linked it in the Guides section of the leaderboard. Hope everyone finds it useful!

Hey, everyone. I appreciate your patience in allowing me to get some availability to get this all together. It's... still not perfect, but the knowledge is all there. We even learned some things along the way. Message me on Twitter or Twitch if you have any questions!

I'm looking into finally learning this game as a proper speedrun, and I was hoping to have some questions answered regarding the optimal version of this game to run.

For starters, why are all of the best times on emulator? Does it actually run faster than original hardware?

This one's a bit trickier... if I choose to run the game on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, is there any discernible difference between the PS3 and X-Box 360 versions to place one over the other? The only info I have regarding this is that the PC version is apparently best avoided.

Any and all information/answers would help. Thanks so much to anyone and everyone for their time!

There seems to be quite a bit of controversy over this as of late, but I want to make sure I understand here... what is the deal with allowed emulators for NES games? I have on good authority a list of valid emulators, but none of them seem to approve emulation on non-computer devices, i.e. phones/tablets. It's more or less common knowledge that touch screen provides way too much of an advantage in terms of input speed. Not only that, certain emulators also seem to eliminate the need for grinding good RNG because they're not cycle-based (FCEUX being a perfect example).

Are these going to be accepted for this game at this point, or any point? Or will it fall in line with other NES games? It seems as though most games just don't allow them to begin with.

Hey, everyone! I just uploaded a full collection of save states for practice. These .srm files will work perfectly if you have the NES Everdrive N8. Happy practicing!

I'm not sure if this has been acknowledged in the past, but the level select inputs for this game are actually in the instruction manual. Maybe it would be a good idea to update the rules to state that it's banned? This would prevent any possible "Castle Only" runs from being submitted as Any% in the future.

I have a question regarding a board that I currently moderate. The TMNT Tournament Fighters board desperately needs to be separated into 3 distinct boards, since all 3 games play very differently and shouldn't be categorized together in any fashion. However, I've never tried to create new games before, so I could really use some assistance from a site moderator.

Is there anyone that could provide me some assistance? If so, thanks so much in advance!

I have a pretty crazy idea for a new category. Since the arcade version isn't getting any love around here, I decided to try my hand at a personal goal: 1CC'ing the game with all 8 characters on the hardest difficulty in a single run. Am I nuts? Probably. But I still did it, and managed a sub-2:00:00 timeframe.

Feel free to let me know what you think, as I already have the run ready to go.
