The parachute is an item, but usually, gears are considered items that you get from the catalog. Everyone starts with the parachute, so shouldn't it not count as a gear?

Depending on if you use OBS or not, I have a solution. Install LS and open OBS. Add a new window capture and set it to capture the window "LiveSplit.exe" and it should appear on your OBS window.
