dude no way he pulled a niftski
will sure miss ya bud best of luck in whatever projects you get into o7
sorry for the necro but that seems like an amazing idea, probably not being allowed in any% but like a new category like any% swap or smth
the day i get back to streaming i'll add a run on every single one of these categories lol ty for adding them!
hey i actually updated it! (In the description there's a spreadsheet for IL times)
So, I found an even faster way of doing Wally Walrus' bossfight. Remember in January, when I said you could only do the Early Damage strat once? Guess I was wrong lmao
I'm calling this one "The Ultra Kill", or maybe "Early Damage Combos", because Woody now constantly pecks/beaks Wally from the same barrel as the one you'd do the previous faster method, the Early Damage.
I have no idea of how you could do this consistently, but the setup I found is pretty interesting:
- Get in the barrel as soon as you can, and turn left
- Start pecking to the left, just holding the B button
- In the first 2 frames Wally turns around, press "A" to warp to the other barrel, that will beak him once.
- At this point, just spam the A button over and over (The TAS in the video does aproximately 7-8 cps, which at lot of people can do easily in a controller and in a keyboard), while still holding the B button to peck/beak
- After you beak him 4-5 times (you can get accidental crits here), release the B button and jump out of the barrel and go to the right.
Not only does this saves A TON of time (10.611 seconds from my 7:33 WR, which already has an insane bossfight by itself, and not considering the fact that the TAS I did is pretty unoptimized), it also edges out the problems of precisely having to get out of barrels over and over again, because you can accidentally bonk and lose your speed, and ruin your timing for the bossfight.
Fun Fact: I found this while casually playing on Difficult mode, so it works on both versions!
Video:
After getting 3 WRs in the Easy category (which still haven't been verified '^'), I got bored of doing runs and had some ideas:
IL leaderboards for each level (including the "BÔNUS" one), split apart between easy and difficult modes, including milisseconds retiming (for better accuracy in retime decisions), and a very miscellaneous category I came up with: Bonus%.
If you collect 50 points in Level 1 (which you can get by beaking the eagle at the end of the level, and every frame you beak it, you get a point), after you defeat Smedley the Bear, you'll go to a bonus level where you can get stuff to regen your health, or get some lives there too.
Here's the best run I could get (1:13.6 or .7): I think a time around 1:09 should be possible (if you were to be a TAS)
i think it would be a little impossible for someone grind for something like that CEs are very different from each other in difficulty gameplay wise, and it would need a shit ton of grind, plus the fact that the records could be broken in between, making it even harder.
i saw once the 4-2 bottom clip, with mario being at the same height as the block it'd clip, so, imagine if we could do that on the ground levels with a walljump (like in 8-1), but i won't get my hopes high as it is pretty much impossible to get good subpixels to do a walljump and clip on the ground
So, I recently found that the rom of the game found in many websites today is not the actual game. Long story short: The rom is a "romhack" that for some reason, the author removed the intro, and very recently, two guys decided to get an original copy of the game and dump it into a computer file, and the original copy of the game actually had an intro, showing "SEGA", "TecToy" and some basic copyrights at the start of the game.
I played around with the game for some minutes and didn't find anything other than that different, but anyway, here's the link: https://github.com/ItsPietroFelix/itspietrofelix.github.io/blob/master/Ferias%20Frustradas%20do%20Pica-Pau%20%5B!%5D%20(Brazil).md
