Requesting mod for Samurai Shodown. I submitted a run for the Game Boy version a month ago, hasn't been approved. The game has two mods, one was last active 10 months ago, the other was last active one year ago. Board is basically abandoned.
Hi, could categories be added for the other difficulties? I have a deathless hard mode run I'd like to submit.
I noticed that there was a new WR run set recently, but when I check now it's nowhere to be found on the board. Is there any particular reason why it was removed?
Not a problem man. Thanks, I added my run for now, there’s quite a few runs of this game on YouTube so I’ll merge those over here too.
And I’ll delete the Black Belt column from the HnK board, so this can be the dedicated Black Belt board.
Hi, there is actually already a board for the Japanese version of this game, Hokuto no Ken (SMS), and I made a category for Black Belt. Is there any chance the boards could be merged with this one? Thanks
Until @beerfullofbelly mentioned it, I completely forgot I originally requested this category. Sorry for requesting it and never submitting anything, I got sidetracked learning other games. But I still think it justified existing, and I'll go back to it in the near future.
Although then UraniumAnchor's run might have to be moved to its own category too, as his run technically isn't sword-only, it's "no pick-ups". He uses the Windmill Shuriken at multiple points.
Could the following games: https://www.speedrun.com/ninja_kun_ashura_no_shou https://www.speedrun.com/Ninja_Jajamaru_Ginga_Daisakusen https://www.speedrun.com/super_ninja_kun
Be added to the following series: https://www.speedrun.com/ninja-kun__jajamaru_kun
Thanks.
I can't quite yet request mod for Ultraman Club: Kaijuu Daikessen, as the sole mod is still active (in fact he just approved my run from the other day), but is there any way I can request for the board to be fleshed out a bit? Like to have the rules added, which are currently left completely blank. I reached out a couple times to him offering to help on the board, but he didn't respond to any of my messages.
Looks like the only mod is inactive. You should definitely make a moderation request for this game.
I'd like to request mod for SonSon. I've had a run pending for almost a couple weeks now, one of the two mods hasn't logged on for five months, the other has multiple contact options listed, but attempts to use either proved unsuccessful. (Tried whispering on Twitch, as well as adding him on Discord).
It would be cool to see a tutorial made for this game, just so there'd be more Kabuki Quantum Fighter content out there, but yeah I agree that this game doesn't really need one, it's a well-designed game where the speed-tech is practically built in. The run can absolutely be learned by studying a couple videos, and pure trial-and-error.
This is one of my favorite games ever made, love to see it picking up some steam lately.
I believe you press A to "dismount" from the ladder, and then press left + A to jump onto the platform, but it's an extremely tight window to get it, your tap to the left has to be really subtle and precise. I think the only other part of the run this trick is utilized is at one point in 5-2.
@shikaroxen I get what you're saying, but if there are multiple competitors "duking it out" for a WR, then it's not exactly free. There are games where the main category can't even bring in multiple runners, so a handful of players running a challenge category is worth recognizing.
I can't imagine it'd change too terribly much about the stages though, unlike the low% route for Ninja Gaiden. Here it'd mainly just make the bosses slower.
Hi Nick - this is something I didn’t even know about, so thanks for sharing this knowledge with me. I hadn’t taken that into consideration when establishing these rules. If you want try playing around with this strategy, feel free to do so and I will change the rules to account for this.
Maybe I’ll make the stop time when it fades after the last round? Let me know what works best for you.
Hi, I noticed it's listed that there's a NES version for this game, but from what I can tell, it seems to be an arcade exclusive? It certainly never had a NES port.
