I've done ¤offline speedruns¤ for nearly 2 years and that's where I started. It doesn't mean my first speedrun was on February 18th, 2016 and nothing I did before that counted. I also didn't know someone else said it was pogyo. Either way, the Low% record counts, it is a speedrun, offline speedruns are speedruns and you're acting just slightly retarded @artismspeaks.

Sorry to post here yet again, but I really need some confirmation from a mod about what's required for 100% and also when to start the timer. No one can really agree on one thing and I really think since this game doesn't have a percentage counter, one star is all that should be required.

As I said earlier on this thread, I also saw the record existed with video so it most certainly is a speedrun and I know who has the record, but if I said who I'd get a lot of hate. I can DM you the name and leave it at that if you really, really need to know, but I'd rather not. @artism

OK, I tested out skipping the credits by resetting the console and it does work and save, but you can't skip the credits in-game when you get back to the credits again, so you just have to reset the console each time you get to the credits, only thing is I don't know how early you can reset to where it will also save, so I reset when the credits start after it already showed the rank.

From what I know and have known for years, nothing changes. The only thing that was changed was when you got stars above your head online, but online is not allowed so it's just an unnecessary detail making the run 8-9+ hours of hell for nothing. Even if the color really slightly changes, you are the only person I have ever seen say this and that makes me a bit skeptical of it's credibility. I really think 100% should only require at least one star for half real reasons like how it contributes nothing except only for showoff and half personal preference because I think the run would be horrible and not fast at all. This is why I want a mod to give me their opinion and if the mods agree on all 3 stars, I'll deal with it until I get one run complete and then never do a run again. Honestly though, I hope 3 stars aren't required so I can enjoy doing multiple runs. I've also already routed the whole category and have an RTA route and a race route that makes one small change with only a 20 second difference.

If the game saves and prompts you to an unlock screen when you're done, then yes. The best part is after you've seen the credits once, you can just button mash plus or minus and it's a very little difference from resetting and is possibly also faster.

I've been thinking about this on and off and recently, Pat agreed to racing me on 100% in about 3 weeks so I'd really like some official rules for the category. My idea is to get at least one star on every cup from 50cc to Mirror Mode and do all the Time Trials to unlock everything. Timing would start when you select the license, or when the license is already created and you select 1 Player for the game mode. Timing would end on completion of the last Time Trial or when the last Grand Prix ranking shows at least one Star. Switching controllers any time in the run should be allowed, separate Any% and No Skips would be nice and possibly adding an in-game time to the leaderboards would be a nice touch. I'm saying to get at least one star and not three on everything because the game doesn't have a percentage counter and after one star, nothing matters or changes, one is the same as two and two and is pretty much the same as three. This was mentioned in another thread, so I'm gonna say I think online should not be allowed and homebrew or anything to falsely speed up loads also should not be allowed either. I hope anyone finds this helpful and let me know what you think about this and if something should be changed. I mainly could use some suggestions on starting. @mods. I'll see any replies in the Morning. P.S. Rosalina can be unlocked without the need for a Mario Galaxy save.

I did a quick Google search and if you get at least a one star rank in all Mirror Mode Wii cups (Mushroom, Flower, Star, Special) you'll get Rosalina, so there is absolutely no reason for a 99%.

It would be pointless to do if allowed, but probably isn't allowed.

Having a Mario Galaxy save and just doing 100cc would literally be the same speed. You'd just get to an unlock screen sooner or later, but seeing how you'd already be seeing it either way, it's pointless.

100% Has been discussed before on a previous thread or 2 and 2 runners (Me and PatrickPower2013) already have plans to do a run of that category.

All Time Trial Unlockables would be an interesting category which could have an RTA and IGT on the submission. I'd certainly run it.

Speedrun is one word.

I think times should be up no matter what for accuracy sake, like you can delete a submission but you can't un-speedrun once the run is already completed. I also know exactly who has the record and deleted their video but as tempting as it is, I really don't want to say it at the same time for the sake of not causing drama. It may seem weird or pointless, but the run happened, there was evidence the mods fully reviewed and that time will stay up.

Rosalina wouldn't be faster or slower if you have or don't have Galaxy since you can get her by doing other things in the game and you'd already be doing those things making 99% and 100% being separate categories unnecessary.

Oh yes! I forgot about the empty license. That actually sounds a lot better than what I first said. Sorry, I have not played MKWii in months, so I don't remember everything about it as strange as that sounds and it's because my original Wii broke and I've been waiting for a chance to swap the hard-drives. Seriously, I am not casually re-100%ing a file all over again just to play the game.

For 100%, I think it's best to only require at least a 1 star ranking because the 2 and 3 star rankings are only for show and don't go toward anything. For Time Trials, you'd only beat the regular staff ghosts since beating the expert staff ghosts does not do anything except just to be for show. I've attempted this once, but realizing the length, I quit the run around an Hour in. This is how I would define 100% and I'd really like to know what a mod thinks: Unlock all characters and vehicles, complete all Time Trials and beat the regular staff ghosts, beat all the Grand Pix cups from 50cc to Mirror Mode with at least a 1 star ranking, whatever else I think I might be forgetting that is important and unlocks stuff. For the timing, I think it should start on the OK screen for whatever you're about to start or start when you select Grand Prix/Time Trial mode and end on unlocking the last character/vehicle. The reason I did not include getting three star rankings, doing battle mode and beating the expert staff ghosts is because this game does not have a percentage count, so it's best to just do everything necessary and not additional things for show.
