I found a way to get a Xeno to knock me through the end door of the refinery after the first lift. This may work with other doors, but as the corridor goes left, there's less chance you'll fall out of the map.

It does mean you need that one specific Xeno to come through the ventilation or it won't work. I was messing around and threw a flare, so it might be even quicker without it.

You can skip using the computer and waiting for Tequila to ramble on about Karl Bishop Wayland before you can leave.

It saves around 40 seconds.

I was fortunate enough to find this when I realized my mouse buttons didn't (and still don't) work in-game. It doesn't save any time in this area as it's quicker to kill this Xeno. It could be huge in later areas.

Back up next to a door. You'll need to wait for the Xeno grab into Pistol Whip, and you'll phase backwards through the door. Don't attack it at all.

You still get the Checkpoint when you proceed to the next area.

The bigger door after the video ends doesn't seem to work. It might with more testing.

I've not had a chance to test this on elevators, or other smaller doors yet.

1: You don't need to collect chainsaw fuel or red mushrooms. Spamming the rev chainsaw button while attacking deals the same damage. Using the empty chainsaw will avoid the execution animation which wastes a few seconds each time.

2: Grab as many health items as you can. You'll absolutely need them.

3: When Ash gets knocked down, double tap START to cancel his getting back up animation. This is the most helpful when fighting the tree boss (which I haven't found a decent strat for yet).

4: Using One-Liners repeatedly in certain areas will confuse enemies (Skeletons / Scouts) and stop them from attacking you, and will, in some cases, stop them spawning altogether (Just before the Lawnmower in the maze, and at the 4 gravestones are two important examples).

5: On the current route, Ghosts will spawn in the same place 99% of the time, so hug the other side of the path to avoid being knocked down. You may run into a bit of trouble down the side of the cabin. It's very tight, and one can potentially block the whole path.

6: If you have any ammo loaded inside the guns just before you upgrade them, you will lose that ammo. You get a full reload when upgrading.

7: Wall hitboxes are huge. Give yourself a wide berth when going around corners, especially in the maze and around the pillars on the final boss.

I'll update this if I remember anything else. It's been ages since I've played it.

I tried running both versions of this game several months back. I managed to get to the Insubordination mission at around 4 hours. Is there a way to guarantee the Sgt. Erik Tan mission triggers without having to wait for hours?

I've done all missions, relocated to each new home & upgraded everything I could, done all side quests, but in over 120 hours in both versions, I've only ever had it trigger once in the original version.

I've been running this for a few days and have found a few small time saves:

Quickest Predator Kill:- The grenade will always trigger the checkpoint and bring him down to melee combat.

Tequila Manipulation. This only works after you've rescued her from the Ruins and have cleared the next area of Xenomorphs. When she says "I'll get the door...", melee and she'll chase you. Repeat until she's at the door.

I have no idea how to do the Refinery roof skip after several hundred attempts, so Corpseflesh should be able to bring his time down even further with these small strats. I should be able to get a 53:XX without that skip, and better general combat.

From now on, runs submitted with keyboard controls will not be accepted for the Sega Dreamcast. Evil Dead: Hail to the King was never compatible with the Dreamcast keyboard. Emulators with keyboards are also not allowed. Full compatibilty list here: https://segaretro.org/Dreamcast_Keyboard#Compatibility

Non-Dreamcast controllers are fine as I don't expect anyone to go out and buy one just for runs, but they must be displayed on the video via a site like Gamepadviewer.

Playstation runs must also have the controller displayed on the video.

PC runs must show the controls used via a site like Nohboard or Input Overlay. Remapping keys is perfectly fine, as is using a controller.

On the Any% No OOB No Ride Skip run, all of the rides have a story attached to them apart from the Merry-Go-Round. You're able to spam left mouse when the ride is slowing down to leave it slightly early. On all the other rides you have to wait until they're completely finished.

Is it okay to leave the Merry-Go-Round ride while it's slowing down, or is the rule that you need to wait for the ride to come to a complete stop?
