Can we get a specific start/stop time added to the rules? I think start on hitting start and end on first test popup after last turn is probably the easiest markers.
Also, if we have to use real time, we're going to need a clear cut start and stop point..
I'm not a huge fan of the IL display on this site, because it doesn't make it easy to see which categories people are running beyond the first runner. For me to find the active category, it requires and additional 12 loads, and speedrun.com often has issues with overloading.
I expect it will get patched out, but on the off chance it doesn't, we could decide on further splitting the categories, or just make the main category NMG (no major glitches).
While they're not nearly as easy as they are on PC, it looks like zips on the switch are possible. The timing is a lot earlier than on PC though.
The trick is to get the screen to transition to black before you see the roll animation. If you see your character roll as it's fading, it's probably too late.
Here's a twitch video of hitting some zips on the switch. To give some idea, I hit about 7-8 zips over the course of 20 minutes and roughly 200-300 attempts. But it's possible!
It's similar, but a little more casual. Rather than focus on races, we're just trying to get people to try out the game and add some runs to SRC.
Are you looking to start speedrunning, but haven't picked a game yet? Are you interested in running games that only a few people have tackled as a speedrun? Do you want to do it alongside a bunch of other people?
We're starting a new club, where we speedrun a different obscure game every month. We're focusing on games that don't have a lot of activity on SRC (like 5 or less runners). And you can join!
For January, we're letting people submit one game of their choice, and we'll vote on which one to run. But in future months, we're probably going to go for a more catered experience.
