Hello. For this one we played it using the MAME ROM "oceanhun" with the Supermodel Emulator.

This game is a bit of an odd one to emulate. Here are the steps:

1. You need the Fighter Build of the custom RPCS3 fork which is made to emulate Namco 357 arcade systems (https://www.emuline.org/topic/3436-emu-rpcs3-arcade-fork-project-omed-system-357-369-359/)

2. Do what this guide says https://fliphtml5.com/avfsn/qssk/PROJECT_OMED_FAQ/ especially in regards to setting up the Dongle.

3. Make sure you are putting your game files in the emulator /games directory, not using Add Game to add it from some other directory.

4. After starting once, use DemulShooter to patch the HDD1 PPU files (or extract the rar file from the Resources zip into hdd1 directory)

5. Use DemulShooter for mouse input settings.

Just wanted to note that the developer has stated that likely the next major patch or two he plans to add a 5th level to the game.

This will likely cause all runs to be invalidated and archived with all categories being refreshed for the new 5 Level game when it occurs.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up in advance.

Went to do this but then realized that this game is named Raiden (Arcade) because I intended to only cover arcade with it. Will get game name updated to Raiden (Other) (similar to Raiden 3) and will add other platforms.

Not sure if the Red Hawk clone version has any rom differences though, or maybe is a different game in some way and I am not fully understanding.

Hello all runners,

Current problems with this game emulation wise:

• Timer runs slightly faster in emulator

• Some graphics and lighting effects not popping in

• Sound garbled.

• Can only select Beginner in Time Trial

Because of this we are going to be separating the Original and Emulated categories for now. And in the future if emulation improves, be aware that your emulated runs might become obsolete / easily beaten when the timer is completely fixed.

Based on my own experiences running this, mixed with this review status from a bit ago by Video Game Esoterica:

Hello sorry its taken me a while to get back to you on this.

The truth is that I am not 100% sure on the best way to handle this. The fact that this port is essentially on 5 different systems, I am not sure if the correct move is to open a category just for this port, or to open categories for all the systems it is now on (maybe Xbox port runs faster than PS port for example)

Any thoughts? Want to ensure we cover this one.
