What is the start and end point?

My capture card sometimes crashes when I start ps2 games on my ps3...am I able to just give myself a 2 or 3 min handicap and then start the journey from the main menu??

Straight run, or can you reload??

Would running this on PS3 be the same as a ps2 emu run??
