Is it necessary to Show on my GTA:SA run an external Timer like W-Split? Or is it ok if i just send in my Gameplay?

ok thx These Tips are pretty helpfull and i relly want to start my first runs. My only Problem left is that i want to run GTA San Andreas and i cant put it in windowed mode. That means that i cant record Wsplit and my Gameplay in the same Video. But in other GTA SA runns they all got it on the same Screen. DO anyone knows how i could solve the Problem?

Hello Guys i want to start Speedrunning some of my favorite Games. I already downloaded OBS for recording,My Game and WSplit as my Timer. And her is my Problem. I Just dont know how i can put WSplit in the forground so i can see my acctual Time. Is it possible on 1 Screen or do i need a second Monitor? If iam already here asking for help are their maybe some generall Tips for Speedrunning?
