Hey there, yeah I do have one made, I just haven't invited anyone but the other mod to it yet. I got a lot of requests for it so a few days ago I set one up but as soon as the other mod takes a look at it and makes sure the permissions are setup right I'll be posting it. I am aware there was some stuff that happened from looking at the forums here, hopefully we don't get drama again but well see.
@dinozaver15 You do need to submit video footage, it sounds like you need to verify your YT account which I don't think is toooo complicated.
I think, though I'm not 100% sure, that the newly added performance setting actually disables all these by default. Just testing in game, there definitely is no clouds, fog or even grass. Realistically since this is appears to be allowed as a basic option, I think were gonna be fine allowing the listed graphic commands since they basically do the same thing. If performance is a concern definitely look into that setting since they just added it.
Also its great to have more runners, I've been quite busy lately to do more, but I was gonna make a video announcing this page exists but was just waiting to see if 5.5 was gonna change/mess anything up before then but its good to see folks are finding it without that.
Since I'm now a mod, for now we will be using ghost for that one artifact at the wyvern nest, but obviously anyone exploiting ghost for anything else will have their run invalidated.
Since I'm now a mod, for now we will use <cheat giveitemnum 152 1 0 0>. Unless a way is found to get the artifact without needing to do that, in which case that will become the new standard.
Hello fellow speedrunners, I wanted to send out a PSA about sub Maadim: DONT DO IT. Basically, for tower%, you HAVE to cap a tower for it to appear at all. And I can't tell exactly how long you have to wait but it is around 7 to 10 minutes before a sub appears on your side, and sometimes it doesn't really seem to appear, and then you have go and cap the two towers left, presumable still going through the first tower so that the route is the same as it would've been if you had capped it with the sub. Of course, if you want to restart that, you have to exit to the main menu because a glitch keeps the towers you've capped still capped after reentering test mode from the bay or design and test, and then you have to wait 10 minutes again for it to show up. Same thing with the horseshoe, if you mess up after waiting for it to appear after capping, you will need to wait another 10 or so for it to reappear on your next attempt. Overall, this kind of seems broken for the moment so we probably disband the category or something until they change the sub mechanics on Maadim. EDIT issue has been solved
Hello there, Thank you for the help. Also, I sorta meant the differences in the categories for submission I need some help with. Specifically, when you submit a run, I know that the time is what it says in game, but on the leader board and when your filling out the categories, there is a separate section for ingame time vs “time”. Should both of these values match with the time the run took or do they mean anything different is my question, since it seems to me that they are the same and mean the same thing? Im asking since some people use it for the time at the end of run, which is odd, and others use it the same as the “time” section and other have it vary slightly. Either way, thank you very much for your help in this since I’m new to speed running.
Hello there, I wanted to ask, does in-game time matter? It seems to me since your run starts when you leave the gate it doesn’t matter what the time is when you finish, and speed run.com doesn’t seem to comprehend how a higher time in that category could be better. Should we be using it at all or did I miss how I’m supposed to be using that in submissions? Like is it meant for the ingame clock works out to or is it the time that you finish the run ingame since I’ve seen both used. Seems a little confusing to me 😅 so I’m just curious if it matters for our current categories.
