What type of iOS do you have? I have iPhone 12Pro and it seems to work just fine, so it might be you’ll probably just have to upgrade or something I don’t know

@Cursed1701 but I just want to if they were ever a thing tbh so that’s why I posted the web retrieval site (also because I can’t use it on mobile tbh)

Wisconsin, USACrSb00011 year ago

I was able to retrieve all of the versions of the site: https://web.archive.org/web/changes/https://www.speedrun.com/smo/full_game

Aight imma look through it now

Edit: or attempt to (I’m on mobile tbh)

Edit 2: okay I actually cannot look through this tbh

Why isn’t there a 2P sub-category for World Peace, Dark Side, Darker Side, All Moons or 100%? I feel like since Any% has a 2P subcategory, it would just make more sense to just add 2P subcategories for the rest of them tbh

Also for Easy/Normal/Expert it's a 4.9426524e+45 to 1 chance tbh

Wisconsin, USACrSb00011 year ago

@Trullaria although it is only a chance of (((26000000^6)+((26000000^6)-1)+((26000000^6)-2)+((26000000^6)-3)+((26000000^6)-4)+((26000000^6)-5)) to 1 tbh

Or 1.8534947e+45 to 1

Assuming 10 second loading times for all 16 levels (assuming playing on a USA/J Switch and frame perfect entries/exits with no lag), I was able to calculate that the absolute limit for Easy, Normal, and Expert (since you need to complete 16 levels for all 3 of those speedruns to be complete) is 3 min 11.968 sec (assuming getting 1.998 sec long levels (not including dev door levels that take you straight to the end). Here's the math: 1.998x16 + 10x16 = 191.968sec or 3 min 11.968 sec as the limit for Easy/Normal/Expert

Super Expert: 1.998x6 + 60 = 71.988 sec or 1min 1.988 sec (since you need to do 6 levels for the Super Expert endless mode speedruns)

Current WR for: Easy: 9:47 by Fantsu (6min 35sec off) Normal: 12:32 by Keiichi (9min 20sec off) Expert: 17:27 by Keiichi (14min 15sec off) Super Expert: 7:49 by Keiichi (6min 47sec off)

so yeah you're welcome tbh. Math done by: me tbh

Edit: I might've done some of the math wrong tbh

@JarmezGD also for either both 1&2p or just 2 player tbh

@DMBOS_27YT Murder is technically legal with the Broodals since Bowser basically hired them to stop Mario from saving Peach (who is technically Mario’s wife since they have Rosalina as their daughter)

But here’s where things get complicated: Cap Kingdom: The wire capture at the end of the kingdom Cascade: use some precise tricks to get to the bones (to not destroy anything natural). Then CRC to get the painting warp moon Then kill Mrs. Broodal (legal since Mario is saving Peach) After that, get either the subarea moon or the moon near the subarea (since both only appear after you fight Mrs. Broodal) Here’s where we’ll have to break one law: Stealing the Odyssey, since there’s no way to actually get it legally. Sand: the route is going to be extremely different, since we are not able to break any laws. You could get coins from the subarea in Cascade to buy a shop moon. (legally, 1/16) You then get the casino moon (since gambling isn’t illegal, technically, but however, even though it varies from state to state on which age you can start gambling (I think), but I don’t think it matters. 2/16) Then go to the ground pound subarea to legally get a moon. (3/16) Clip into the pyramid (since technically disobeying the laws of physics isn’t illegal) and do the pyramid as normal without breaking/killing anything, and then defeat Harriet (6/16). Before this, you can get the Jaxi moon (7/16) and the moon on top of the pyramid (8/16) legally. Sand (Night): This is where things get difficult. Go defeat Knucklotec (11/16) Sand (Day 2): you can get another 3 moons legally (14/16) but this is honestly where I am stuck. If anybody would be willing to help, I would appreciate it.

Edit: total of 2 laws broken when leaving sand, also you can just get the tree moons to get 16/16 moons

@Walgrey thanks for reminding me I really don’t look at the rules and don’t have a speedrun in that category so I guess I only have myself to blame tbh

Edit 1: I might’ve been thinking about full level runs but still I can’t believe that I didn’t fact-check before posting tbh

Edit 2: no wait I don’t think full level runs pause between levels that might just be the timing without loads tbh

Wisconsin, USACrSb00011 year ago

@JarmezGD It’s also the same problem with Endless Mode speedruns in SMM2 (I have one successfully completed run for Easy mode, not that I’ve tried speedrunning any other difficulty but still I guess I see your point still.

Edit 1: in addition to your point for it being luck based, people legit GRIND speedruns for SMM2 Endless Mode speedruns for pretty much months at a time just to get a PB

Edit 2: Also, with 25/50 recent tab levels, if you fail a speedrun, then you basically have to spend more time reloading the recent tab than you would if it was only say 5/10 levels, but I guess 25/50 would make sure that the WR never gets under say 2 or 3 min, however, this would make the number of resets much, much higher, statistically speaking. Compromise: subcategories for 10, 15, and 20 levels.

Wisconsin, USACrSb00011 year ago

This seems like it would be a good category, aside from the fact that getting really far behind in a run means having to basically delete/redownload the game tbh

Wisconsin, USACrSb00011 year ago

Disclaimer: Sorry if this is a bad idea, most of my ideas are anyways so sorry in advance

Category idea: recent tab level speedruns

How this would work: It’s basically just completing either 5 or 10 recent tab levels as fast as possible Timing issues: load times are different for different devices, so the timer would have to be paused in between levels (extremely annoying) but I think this is already done with completing 5/10 rated levels/demons (probably to compensate for load times) Also no, if you fail a speedrun, I’m sorry, but you will have to reload the recent tab. yes I know this is pretty much like Endless Mode grinding in SMM2 (which I hope my 13:59.46 for Endless mode (easy) gets verified), but still, nonetheless, I think it’s a good category.

Please give me feedback on this, any and all feedback is accepted.

Probably a coincidence. It seems like nobody has heard of Fir doing this until now, either that or the video is new, but either way this is still a p cool speedrun idea tbh

I don’t even watch Fir that much anymore and when I do it’s usually his old videos, but wow, okay but hey that’s still nice to here

I’ve been thinking about this and, I think I’ve figured out Bowser’s (although I can’t figure out Moon):

As it is done in Min. Captures, you are actually able to jump up the part where you are supposed to use the Pokio without actually capturing the Pokio. About the wire captures, you can either CRC or do nut jump (also used in minimum captures).

The Mech: You can use a very precise strat to get onto the mech without the Pokio, and I guess technically killing the Broodals would be self defense (since Mario is killing them to be in his way to save Peach, who I have a feeling is techinally Mario’s wife, since Rosalina’s parents are canonically Mario and Peach)

Then, using this previous logic of Mario being Peach’s husband, I guess that would explain Moon as well. If there is anything I missed/got wrong, please tell me. I would love the feedback

The final run is at the end tbh Edit: forgot to mention when, the actual run happens at 7:35. Sorry the video is really long, I was for some reason trying to grind this run in 1 sitting, which in hindsight isn’t something I should have done tbh.

Only true gamers do 107 the correct way

Edit: forgot the road one is 107 not 106, changed it

The info for the video in photos says it’s 59.97FPS, but okay. (It’s not like it’s going to make that much of a diff anyways)
