Never thought the day would come where I'd own a Vita (or regular Psp for that matter lol). I'm wondering what is unique about this version? It's just a direct port of the PSOne version just w/ faster loads, correct? Will I be able to get Biohazard 2 for it, or just RE2? Other than the 5.99 to download it am I looking at any other costs to play it? Not planning on capturing any runs to submit, I just look forward to having a version to play again. Have been without any systems since around March! :/

Now, to answer your inquiry; No, it doesn't invalidate your run to pause, for any reason or amount of time (I'm fairly certain anyways, and if I'm wrong someone will come along and correct me shortly! Lol). All a pause does is + to your time by however long the pause was lol :/

Something you can do also is determine how many seconds your pause lasted, and then deduct it from your final time. That'll give you a rough estimate of what your time COULD'VE been, minus the pause. ???

You plan to run emu, so I assume that means you own a pc, any particular reason keeping you from dl'ing the Sourcenext version? As stated above, it can be found through the Discord (and also here at SR.com I think, in the Resources tab maybe). Someone will be more than happy to help you install it I'm sure ??

If you don't mind me asking, why do you say "autosplit is not an option for you at the moment"? Just set it up and you're good to go, right? As Laguna said, it is mandatory for PC.

I always thought it would be a great idea to allow the 1.11 on the regular leaderboard provided it only played the US version. When I brought up the issues I had with the creation of the seperate lb a few people even said the fastest time achievable with all non-modded gear would be on a 1.11 w/ US version game, so I myself only ran US on my scph 70012 in hopes of getting a time better than Poppo's but on US RE2. I think this is a great suggestion Steven. ?

Hmm Idk man I just watched some of it and the inventory didn't appear to lag. Of course I didn't watch the entire thing, but I skipped to a random part (G Mutant fight) and it seemed fine.

I think for the sake of practice that should work fine, as far as learning routes and such. I do know there are some dodges that are much harder on PS than on PC though (if they're even possible on PS). Stuff like Yolo horde and MO disk.

And as far as releases most similar to PC? That would be the Dreamcast version I think.

@starsmiley: Hey I feel you there. There were many times last year when despite having a system on which to run I still didn't bc work kept me so friggin exhausted lol. I hate that. >:(

I'm sure we've all been there at some point. Whether bc of time, tragedy, or various other "life" circumstances, the time or ability to run your fave game just isn't possible or presenting itself, and the itch finally starts to get to you :(

Me personally, I made some...dumb decisions that led to me moving to 3 different places in one year, thus not holding a stable job. Had to sell things to stay afloat, which finally led to my PS2 and N64 (both for playing my main game, Biohazard 2). I haven't had a run in about 5 months now, and thus haven't followed as closely either. I recently logged back in after the RE2 remake was announced, and just feel so discouraged. Some brand new names/times on the boards and I feel like I'm left behind haha.

At least I have til January to get a PS4 for the REmake! Once I get a new system I'ma do my damndest to never experience this again! It sucks! Lol. What do you guys do when circumstances arise and inhibit you from running? I figure all I can do is maybe study some obscure areas of the game and gleam what knowledge I can so maybe I can come back with some new tricks haha.

Same with me, I was referring to running on the PS version (on a PS2, if that matters.)

@Liv, I've noticed this issue of opening fmv's not even starting for some people (ie goes straight to game from Leon/Claire crash) whereas I have to skip the cutscene and it matters not how fast I do it (I can even leave the start/skip button held down) and it'll still play a few seconds before skipping. Why is that? Anyone know? Does it add time to my run? Thx for any info in advance ??

I'm right there with you friend, I came to SM64 from Resident Evil 2 and the difficulty curve was astounding. It actually made me quit for about 3 months bc I couldn't do such simple stuff as Bomb Clip lol. I only recently came back with the intent to try harder this time.
