At each new version of the game (which changes gameplay/features), the old runs would be rejected with the "Old version" cause. Or if there's enough people, we could vote to have a great run system.

Hi, I understand. It was a while ago. This is obsolete and forgot to put it. Sorry. It was the latest version at this moment, so, it was legit at that moment.

Metal Gear Solid 2 (Individual levels) as they're easy + Mario games (except The Lost Levels)

• When I learn a new game, I play as much possible and watch speedruns of that game, and the fastest possible (but I play MGS2).
• I practice by using saves at certain areas of the game which are hard for me.
• I set goals for myself. For example, my main goal now is going for sub 7mn E-Ex Tanker S-Rank on MGS2.
• Personal philosophy ? Method ? Play.
• Casually, I play for fun, nothing else (but eventually beating WR for Tanker-Plant E-Ex)
• Umm, I don't want to be number 1 as it would not be fun to compete with others and it would not be fair.
• Yes I do, run again and again until PB.
• I think a good speedrunner never stops practicing.
• I play at a high level (just below semi-pro) StarCraft II and MGS2 only.
• When I got bored because I have all the WRs.
• I am motivated by some players such as Anonymityhope, AmaebiUniO, Hikari, 131913055, and of course, having speedrun mates to talk with.
• Umm, I stopped playing seriously MGS2 during 2014 (just punched guards in the balls), but I got back.
• Getting the WR lol

PS2 NTSC is capped at 30 FPS, while PS3 HD is 60 FPS. Like MiniOmegaKing said, I would recommend you playing on HD Edition too.

Metal Gear Solid 2 Snake Tales & Tanker (not E-Ex) are pretty easy to run. (^^)

Afaik, there is no differences between NTSC Subsistence and HD Edition, except for the framerate (but I don't think if it is important). But, PAL and NTSC version of the PS2 are different, unlike the PS3, with its region-free games. So maybe if you're a playing a PAL version, this may make a difference, but I don't think so, because you live in the US. I hope I have helped you. (^^)

I will try to speedrun on Snake Eater NTSC-US Extreme. I don't have Subsistence, nor a PS3/Xbox 360. I will try to find a Subsistence disc ^^ I think that NTSC for the PS2 is faster than PAL, but I cannot tell you. Japanese would be faster due to faster text ? But English is a good choice.

I'm Azu; from France :D (I've created my profile a long time ago, but didn't introduced myself) I'm speedrunning Metal Gear Solid 2 (Tanker on Very Easy) because I love this game and Metal Gear series overall. It reminds me of my childhood with Metal Gear Solid : The Twin Snakes. MGS2 is the MGS I have played the most for sure.
