Oh, interesting! I had no idea. You can probably afford to be coming in at 0 or even above par for Marion, not sure about the cutoff for the other two. If I have a bit of downtime in the next weeks, I'll try playing with it.

Looking forward to weekly races again!

I'm still on the same schedule as before. So basically, I work 2 out of 5 Sundays. If I'm off and at home, I'll totally race... pretty much whenever.

What to do if a randomizer rom has something softlock-y (sprites blocking doors is the biggest culprit):

Have the following items prepared before you start: 1.) Have a clean, vanilla version of Earthbound ready. 2.) Know where your save states are located, and have that folder open and ready. 3.) Have your keyboard within arm's reach. :D

What to do when you're stuck: 1.) Make a save state just outside of the area you need to get past. (If you're blocked in the Happy Happy cultist house, step outside the house and make your save state. If you're blocked in the monkey cave, step one room back, and make your save state.) 2.) Make a copy of the save state file. 3.) Rename the copy to be EXACTLY the name of your vanilla earthbound rom. (EarthBound-Fart-Field - Copy.001 becomes EarthBound.001) 4.) Load your vanilla EarthBound rom. 5.) Load the copied & renamed savestate. (If the name is exactly the same, it should work.) 6.) Move past the trouble spot. 7.) Once you're past the trouble spot, make a save state. 8.) Make a copy of that save state. 9.) Rename the copy to be EXACTLY the name of the randomized earthbound rom. (EarthBound - Copy.002 becomes EarthBound-Fart-Field.002). 10.) Load the randomized rom. 11.) Load the renamed save state. 12.) Proceed as normal!

It'd be pretty simple to just load up save states outside the cultist house, monkey cave, etc and check the rom. We might have weird spots where the game will crash due to the weird sprites the randomizer chose, kinda like how deep darkness was last time.

I'm okay with it either way. We can either leave the sprites alone, or accept that we'll probably need to save state often to get around some obstacles.

Version 1.0.8 is released! I strongly recommend updating since I broke a few door triggers >.>

¤1.0.8 -Broke a few more stupid things, they're fixed. -Changed the cost of some PSI.

¤1.0.7 -Made more changes in regards to feedback -Diamond Dog, Carbon Dog made more difficult. -Giygas P2 now has more HP (for some reason he still only had 2k like normal... whoops) -Success rate of Slime Generator decreased. -Broke a few doors, they're now fixed

¤1.0.5 -Fixed Spiteful Crow XP. (36 vice 6, oops) -Troubleshooting the Guardian Digger AI. -(Feedback) Increased the Super Bomb cost. -(Feedback) Greatly increased cost of the Sudden Guts Pill (Didn't even realize you could buy these, whoops) -One MBR vendor snuck past me. Sneaky, sneaky! -Thunder & Storm have max flash resistance instead of min flash resistance.

CURRENT VERSION: 1.0.8, released Sept 25, 2015.

I know there was an old hard mode hack on the starmen.net forums that never quite got finished, and I remember the unfinished version having weird issues, lockups, NPCs with missing text, etc. So, I decided to slap this together.

Made using PK Hack in under a day, this hack changes enemy stats, movesets, AI, and item drops. BBRs and MBRs are removed from stores (but not entirely removed from the game). PSI Freeze is made to be less effective versus a majority of the game's enemies. Status effects will make many fights more manageable, and stat buffs/debuffs will be useful against some enemies and bosses. Item effects are almost entirely unchanged.

That being said, I haven't finished testing it yet, having finished it about an hour ago. I don't expect to have many issues, but I still recommend using save states at regular intervals. If you get a lock that wouldn't normally happen in EarthBound, I'd ask that you either save the video (if you were streaming) and/or describe what you did leading up to the lock.

There's still more that I would like to do to this hack, such as fine-tuning difficulty in certain sections of the game, custom enemies/bosses/items, etc. For now, though, enjoy!
