Zip package including:

  • Any% Glitchless splits
  • Any% Unrestricted splits (versions with and without Waterun)
  • A default layout using subsplits
  • A custom version of the Checkpoint Autosplitter made by Micrologist (original available here). Fixes some issues around double splitting and ILs

Disclaimer

I do not recommend using these splits if you are still learning the run OR if you are not confortable with LiveSplit. Checkpoints in Stray have some "randomness" involved so using these splits will require some monitoring (ie. skip/cancel splits) during and after your runs.


Autosplitter configuration

Add the autosplitter in your layout through a "Scriptable Auto Spliter" component. Disable the official autosplitter in Edit Splits.

For full game runs: Check "Split on completing the game" and "Split on getting a new checkpoint". Uncheck the rest.

For ILs runs : Check "Start timer upon loading any chapter", "Split on completing the game" and "Split on getting a new checkpoint".


Known Issues

Depending on your movements the following checkpoints (that should be skipped in an ideal run) may trigger:

  • Chapter 6 : Leaving Seamus' flat
  • Chapter 7 : After talking with the guardian robot
  • Chapter 10 : After stealing the hat

Similarly, the following checkpoints should always trigger but can be skipped under certain circumstances:

  • Chapter 6 : Going back to Seamus flat (only if you triggered it when leaving Seamus' flat)
  • Chapter 7 : Leaving Doc's house after getting the fuse

Missing or getting an extra checkpoint will offset your splits. You'll need to cancel/skip splits to fix it.

Many checkpoints are set to trigger when the cat reaches a certain areas. Try to stick to a consistent pathing around those or you'll end up with 2 "fake" gold splits. Having impossible to beat golds isn't much of an issue if you know where they are, but if the gap with your gold becomes significant then I recommend you reset that particular gold.

Some checkpoints are given after a set time, but only if the cat is on "safe" ground. As such, there are some cases where checkpoints can be delayed for a lot longer than they should because the cat is currently jumping :

  • Chapter 2 : After zurk chase
  • Chapter 4 (glitchless) : After the second guardian cutscene
  • Chapter 11 : Before luring the first sentinel in its cell

Those will also create "fake" golds. They are however a bit more annoying to correct. Reset your golds for those splits if you notice they are offset too much.


Current Patch Exclusive Checkpoints (v1.5)

New checkpoints have been added in later patches. Because these splits were made from patch2, you'll need to insert a new split at the relevent position to prevent the timer from breaking. This is the case for:

  • Midtown: Stealing the vest triggers a new checkpoint

I left my times and SOB in every file for you to compare against if you want.

Rule Changes

Hey all!

There have been several recent changes to the rulesets. I encourage everyone to review the rules in full, but the main changes are listed below:

IL's now end at the first checkpoint of a future chapter. Please review individual chapter rules for which checkpoints are used.
