Hey guys, first of all I'm Milerski from Germany, just started running and glad to finally join the community!
I've got a small problem in 1-2, been practicing for a week now and just can't find a way to consistently hit the jump between the Koopa and the two Gumbas. I've heard that's a pretty hard jump at full speed, but I wonder if the space I have to execute the jump (so the position of these enemies when I enter) is in any way affected by the current framerule?
Those enemies aren't affected by the current framerule. I'd recommend if you are struggling with that jump, do this easier strat in runs for now: which isn't much slower.
Thanks a lot man, seems like I can take things a bit slower anyway. Appreciate the help!
The way I do that jump is to slow down while under the blocks by letting go of right, and then tapping A and regrabbing right to clear the koopa, then do a full jump once you land to clear the goombas. It works pretty well and is somewhat lenient.
don't worry if you don't get consistent on that jump right away; a lot of people use the safe strats for a while after starting out until they get used to the physics of this game
Yeah, the safe strat only loses you about a second so there's no need to implement it early on. I'd recommend just working through the game with the larger timesaves first before you get to the less useful, harder stuff; best not to get overwhelmed with too many hard strategies early on.
I'm already stretching my luck with the pipe jumps everywhere, and I'm nowhere near a consistent setup anyway. Very strange how you see more than 30 years of progress on this game without even thinking about making some compromises when finally starting yourself, haha
Pipe jumps are probably one of the last strategies you should implement. They're very hard to do consistently, and save very little time.
Effective immediately, any submissions using the SNES9x emulator will not be verified. The SMB1 mod team has concerns about its integrity due to its ability to overclock and remove lag frames, which may not be easily detectable. Additionally, we request that all BizHawk submissions avoid using the S
