What are the rules for Sega Saturn? Original version & no spindash?

My understanding is that Original mode sufficiently replicates the original game that it can be used, but I've never played it so that's not definitive.

Ok. So I don't speedrun the Sega Saturn version until the rules for it are established?

I don't see any reason for banning the Saturn version (Original Mode). Just submit a run, if you have one. Someone will look at it then.

But I have no idea where runs with the spindash would go.

Ok I'll do that. Thanks!

Make a catogory (can't spell :P) for it? Like a spindash catogory?

can you add plug and play as a category, because although it's a awful way to play the game, the Atgames systems still exist and are classified as a plug in and play consoles. You also forgot to add gba because of sonic genesis.

Whoops.

As for your other query, no.

In regards to the plug-and-plays... wouldn't that fall under emulated Genesis anyways, since they're pretty much glorified (and often badly at that) emulators? Either way, better off at that point to either run on Kega Fusion or find a compilation disc for a newer game console/PC.

I suppose it would make sense to classify them as emulator

Default Timing Method

Results of Community Vote:

For RTA-TB: 24 (96%)

For IGT: 1 (4%)

The result is not close and is why this vote needed to happen.

The default timing method for Sonic 1 1991 moving forward is RTA-TB. IGT is still relevant as a secondary timing method.
