I understand why, and agree to its usage, but find it silly that there would be a distinction between what I am suggesting and tactical restarts, seeing as they are essentially the same thing. And I am only arguing against restarts, not because I disagree with them in practice, just because they go against the grain of "Single Segment", which seems to be the buzzword against framerate switching
They don't go against the grain of "Single Segment". When you restart / retry, you're not exiting the game. Besides the game's timer is still rolling during the retries, so you're losing time loading the checkpoint. Dying is basically the same as retrying, you're losing time loading the checkpoint.
Switching framerate is exiting the game completely, so it's not a SS run anymore.
There is no need to argue more about this, this is the rule that has any other game.
