Downpatch Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 Through the Steam Console

1. Press windows key + r.
2. Enter steam://open/console into the prompt that comes up.
3. Enter one of these codes into the Steam console.

- For 1.0 patch runs: download_depot 1817490 1817491 3472064775658982753
- For 1.1 patch runs: download_depot 1817490 1817491 2957411760343078601
- For 1.2 patch runs: download_depot 1817490 1817491 6474053569987505700

1. Wait for it to download. This may take a while. Once it is downloaded, it will give you a prompt saying, "Depot download complete."
2. Navigate to your steam files and go to Steam > steamapps > content > app_1817490 > depot_1817491 > WindowsNoEditor and open Playtime_Prototype4 to launch the game.

How to Fix Broken Settings

Note: This is a C1 guide, but it works for C2 as well. I noticed someone asking about broken settings in the forums, so I thought I'd post it here as well. 

Broken settings seems to be due to corrupted save and settings files. To generate new ones:
- Hit the Windows key and r and type appdata into the prompt that comes up. This should open your AppData folder.
- Navigate into AppData\Local and delete the folders AppData\Local\Poppy_Playtime and AppData\Local\Playtime_Prototype4. You may only have one or the other.
When you relaunch the game, you should be able to change your settings. Note that some of the settings are currently broken and can not be changed at all.

How to Show the Steam FPS Counter

To turn on the Steam FPS counter, click on Steam and open Settings:

Then, go to in game and set the placement of the FPS counter.

Put it somewhere where it will be visible on the video and not be blocked by other programs. Turning on high contrast color is recommended:

To get the FPS counter on the downpatched version of the game, click add game and add a non-steam game:

In the window that pops up, click browse, navigate to where you have the executable (Playtime_Prototype4) for the downpatched version, and click open. This should add the game to your library and, when launched through steam, it will show the FPS counter.

If the FPS counter isn't showing up on the recording, if you use OBS, double click on the source that you use to record Poppy Playtime and set the Capture Method to Windows 10. This capture method will still work on Windows 11.
