16 save files - one for each combination of bosses killed. In each save, all plates are unlocked, but no fertile grounds are healed.

Just by looking at the saves from the main menu, it can be difficult to know which save represents which combo. As such, they are ordered in a way to help you locate the correct save. Here are two ways to find out which save to load:

1. When you download the saves, there will be a key.txt file. This file tells you which boss combo each index represents, e.g. save number 7 is where Alchemist, Concubine, and Warrior are killed (but not Hunter). So from the main menu simply count 7 saves down (starting from 0) and load that save.

2. (Better way; looks hard but it's easy) Picture the four bosses on the map, going from left to right - i.e. Hunter, Alchemist, Concubine, Warrior. Represent each boss's status with a bit - i.e. 0 means the boss hasn't been killed, and 1 means the boss has been killed.

Then a 4-digit binary number can represent every possible combination of bosses killed. E.g. 0000 means none of the bosses have been killed; 1010 means Hunter and Concubine have been killed; 0111 means Alchemist, Concubine, and Warrior have been killed; 1111 means all bosses have been killed. Finally, convert this number to base-10, and that is your 0-based save index.

EXAMPLE:

Suppose I want to test doing the Hunter fight with longfall, and then go to Mental Realm from there. To get longfall, I need to do Alkara glitch during the Concubine fight. So I need a save where all bosses except Hunter and Concubine have been killed - i.e. Alchemist and Warrior have been killed. This is represented by the number 0101, which is 5 in denary. Therefore I should load the 6th save from the main menu (or 5th if counting from 0).

Practice save files for the Any% NG+ category. The very first canyon save file is also a valid NG+ starting save file.

Note that it is impossible to preserve death storage and ledge storage in a save file, therefore these saves have a few minor deviations from an optimised route:

1. All saves between corrupting the Temple and entering the Warrior fight are made using the no-drepwarp (no death storage) route. For example, the desert exit vision cutscene and a few others will be loaded in these saves, but they wouldn't be in a real run. If you want to practise that part of the run exactly as it would be in a real run, you have to play from the very first Desert save file and get death storage from there. The save file immediately following the Warrior fight is where the two routes merge together again.

2. All saves between entering the Observatory and finishing the final Alchemist fight are made using the no-ARS (no Alchemist Return Skip) route. This is because it is impossible to preserve ledge storage in a save file. If you want to practise the full part of that run including ARS, you have to play from the final Heaven's Stair save just before entering the Observatory. The save file at the bottom of Heaven's Stair after killing the Alchemist is where the two routes merge together again.

Aside from that these save files are fully accurate to the Any% NG+ category as of 22nd Feb 2025.

Any% NG+ Practice Saves 22/02/2025

These saves are purely for practising fights in Any% NMG. A save was made as close as possible to each fight, with no other saves in between. The fights in these saves are exactly as in a real NMG run. All enemies will have the correct amount of health and correct auras/abilities (at least at the time of writing this - this may change if the route changes).

Other states such as light seeds collected will not line up with a real NMG run, so this should not be used to practise anything except fights.

If you want to run this category and create splits for it, I would recommend starting from this file and modifying it to your liking from there. That way you don't have to worry about autosplitter settings etc.
