The older Adobe Air version installed with the game seems to be what is causing the problem: Download the newest Adobe Air https://get.adobe.com/air/

Head to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0" and copy the "Adobe AIR.dll"

Replace the old Adobe air in "\Steam\steamapps\common\outtheresomewhere\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0"
