General speedrunning tricks

Upon waking up the first time, head immediately to the kitchen.

None of the symbols need to be collected in order, so find the fastest route during the closet/bedroom scenes 

When you head upstairs during the final sequence, have the demon kill you to save time on waiting for him to pass.

During the kitchen scene, you are forced into crouching mode and for whatever reason you're also faster. Going out or crouch returns you to normal speed. So, immediately exit the kitchen once you have control. There is only one symbol that is good enough for crouching: the master bedroom. The rest are mixed between standing and somewhere in between.
