Dream Snowboard Cross: Bridge jump strat

In DCS, there is a shortcut in the middle where you jump over a hill into the bridge without having to go slowly up, them back down. Here, I will explain how to do this, step by step.

I will cover the, what I believe, is the easiest, safest and fastest method for beginners, however, there are variations that can get you faster times. I recomend first learning this method, and only after try to learn the harder method. Remember this guide is not a "tutorial", but its a guide on how to do a certain strategy, but you can adapt according to your playstyle.

This trick requires speed, and to have enough speed to complete the trick, there are some steps.

First, remember that the "speed bosters" are actually an obstacle, because they reset your speed (making you slower).

These steps start right after the initial loop section after about 15 seconds. In this ramp, use your special and make sure to get a "Great"! rating, and right after, spam A to use your special right away![](/static/blob/ynlj1qz6.png)

While in the air, align Sonic with the middle rail with a lot of rings and a blue coin and after landing on this rail, make sure to spam A and use your special ASAP to have even more speed![](/static/blob/1n8564nq.png)![](/static/blob/3nvk0pzm.png)

In the front, you will see 3 rings and a 'hill'. First, make sure to collect the rings and fill up your special again, BUT dont use it, save It for later, and avoid the boosters on the side. Second, before going down this "cave", JUMP to avoid losing time going in the hill.![](/static/blob/dz4k44e6.png)

After landing, you will see a lot of boosters. Try to "hug" the walls to avoid the boosters and preserve your speed.

After this, you will see a ramp. Make sure to get a Great!" rating on the jump, and right after, spam A to use your special quickly. ![](/static/blob/pzm8jkek.png)

Once you land, you will see a path of rings, boosters and a robot in the middle. Follow the path in the green line to re-charge your special and avoid speed loss. (P.S: The photo still has the special because It doesnt use this method, but act like it has no special)

After having your special re-charged, the most important part of the trick comes now: the jump. It's hard to see, but after the rings, there's a small piece of elevation (a "bump") that can be used to jump to the lower part of the bridge's rail.

After collecting the rings, aim Sonic to jump in this bump and aim left for the bridge. However, these yellow obstacles (marked in red) act as an invisible wall, so make sure to avoid going TOO left. It's important to have enough speed & height to clear this jump.

In the bridge, you can use your special to not lose a lot of speed in the upwards hill of the bridge

And you've done It! It's a very tricky strategy, but it can save around 10-30 seconds from a personal best! After a while, you will get consistent in this

I recomend doing this on the Team mode, because there, there's no shocks to make you randomly restart.

Event Intro Skip

First you select the event you want,
Then hit “Go to Event”. Now a loading screen will appear... wait. Right after it ends either mash or time a “start” press as it leads into the event intro. Finally hit “Startover” and you now gain a lot of time. Look at top 2 times in Olympic or Dream Events for reference. One of very few oddities in this game that save a solid amount of time. Works in all  categories, but only in training events in Festival Mode.

New Team Dry Bones Curling Strat

# Purpose

These videos will show a strat for Team Dry Bones (the Curling Rival in Day 13 of Team Festival) that was recently discovered. They are meant to be part of the Festival Mode Speedrun Guide that I have been maintaining in the Discord server. Snowboard Cross Guide

The Snowboard Cross world record seems pretty sketchy, but is 100% possible. There were not many explanations to how this record could work, but it is possible. Here I will explain how to get the best time on Snowboard Cross. The first thing to be sure of is character choice. The best character to use, hands down, is Shadow. The reason being that Sonic takes to long to accelerate and therefore is not a viable pick to pull these tricks off. Now that you've started Snowboard Cross, be sure to get a perfect start. Use your boost a little while after you start. A good place mark for your boost are the lines when you first go down. The second line is your limit. Do it any later and you go flying off the ramp. You should be on the hills located on top of the ramp. Here is where you shake. Shake quickly, but in small, circular motions. This should keep you on the ground. The result is a large speed boost. Once you see the blue streaks, turn a sharp left to reach the ramp. If you're lucky, you'll go straight into the off-road snow, except you will not lose any speed unless you hit a wall or one of the flags. This luck separates a pretty good time from a 35-second or less time. You've reached the second ramp. Do not do any tricks. This goes for the rest of the ramps until you reach the end ramp. Turn a sharp right the moment you touch down. This should keep you at the edge of the track, still going at a fast speed. Make as many inside turns as you can. Continue shaking in circular motions at the hill bumps, and you should reach the first checkpoint in about 15 seconds. This next hill bump is where things get tricky. Sometimes you may hit the wall. To avoid this, turn as sharp a left as you can, but don't stray too far, or you'll lose time at the next ramp and make an outside turn. Continue the circular motion at the next hill bump. Depending on your skill, you should reach the last checkpoint at around 28 seconds. Make a left turn, and there is one last hill bump to give you an extra boost. Avoid the flags, jump off the ramp(it doesn't matter when as long as it's perfect or late) and land a few tricks for a last second boost. Continue practicing, and you should have a good time in no time!

Team Festival Character Choices

Okay so this is my first guide ever so bear with me .v.

In Team Festival Mode, you have to pick four seperate characters to play as for the entire mode, out of the 20 different ones. This leads to 116280 different combinations of characters (trust me I did the math). Today I will be talking about the different characters that should/could be chosen in a speedrun of the mode to get the fastest possible time.

First of all, I would like to point out that Skill type and All-Around type characters are basically useless in comparison to Power and Speed types. Speed types for obvious reasons, and also Power types because they help increase overall speed and mobility during Bobsleigh and other frequent events. Including all the 'important' characters this still leads for a total of 5040 team combinations, so I guess I should look at the characters individually too.

I'm going to place the characters in a priority order, meaning that if you have gaps in your team that are unfilled, you should look at the top of the list first.

Speed:
1. Sonic
2. Shadow
3. Metal Sonic
4. Daisy
5. Yoshi

Power:
1. Bowser
2. Vector
3. Donkey Kong
4. Knuckles
5. Wario

... What? You want an explaination? Ughhhhhhh fine.

Speed:

1. Sonic
Pretty obvious. This should be the character you pick to play as yourself. Sonic is fast. That's all. 

2. Shadow
The second fastest character in the game with maximum acceleration too for an extra boost. Good for if you can't quite handle Sonic's speed.

3. Metal Sonic
Also the second fastest character, but has the highest Power stat of all Speed types, so he can fill in for a missing Power type if you would prefer to use 3 Speed types.

4. Daisy/Yoshi
I sometimes group these together, sometimes put one in front of another, I usually can't decide. Other than speed, they have no other definitive stats. Yoshi has higher acceleration, Daisy has higher skill, it's up to you who's better really.

Power:

1. Bowser
Maximum Power, high speed, high skill. Overall great Power type.

2. Vector
It's hard to choose between Vector and Donkey Kong, but I prefer using Vector because of the higher Skill stat, even if his acceleration is slower.

3. Donkey Kong
See above. 

4. Knuckles
Wario and Knuckles are the only two Power characters without maximum power, so I pick Knuckles because Wario has overall decent stats and may as well be classed as All-Around.

5. Wario
See above.

So that's the characters. Can I leave now? No? Why? You want to know how the teams should be set out? Okay...

There are three main strategies thatcan be used:

All Speed Strategy

In the 2 and 1 Power strategies, you choose, well, 2 and 1 Power type characters. The other slots are filled by Speed types. The All Speed Strategy is where you choose 4 Speed types to make up your team with no Power types at all. This isn't recommended as it makes sports like Bobsleigh hell. But do whatever you please.
