I don't know for sure about the Windows version, but the Linux version really runs terribly. My computer is able to run games like The Talos Principle 2 (on Windows) at a consistent 60 fps without stuttering, but I had a very inconsistent framerate with Mania Dash, even stuttering in some places. Here is a guide on how to make it a little better. (there's a TL;DR at the end if you already have good knowledge of Linux gaming)
The first thing you can do is disable post-processing, as it does already make it a lot better. To do that, you need to go in the level, then press the escape key to go into the menu. Next, go into the settings, and you'll find the post-processing option right there. For me that was enough to run the game without stuttering, but if your computer isn't as good as mine, you may still experience heavy lag, even with post-processing off. So here's how you can improve your performance even more (for information, I was able to run the game with post processing on and without any stuttering, and my framerate never went below 60 fps, so it did definitely improve things).
First, you'll need Steam. I won't explain how to install it here, firstly because it depends on your Linux distro (and I only really know about Ubuntu), but also because there are already plenty of tutorials online on how to install Steam on Linux. Once that's done, you'll need to get the Windows version of Mania Dash. For that, just go on the Mania Dash website (linked at the top of this page), click on Download, then "No, just take me to the downloads", and click to the Download button next to the 64 bit Windows version (don't accidentally confuse it with the 32 bit version !). Put it in a new folder, then unzip it. Now, you'll have to open Steam and go into your library. Normally, there should be a button named "Add a game" at the bottom left of the window. Click on it, then click "Add a non-Steam game...", then "Browse...". You'll need to find the "Mania Dash.exe" file that you extracted earlier, then click on "Add selected programs". Normally, you should see Mania Dash appearing in your library. You're almost done ! Right-click on Mania Dash in your list of games, then click "Properties...". Next, go into Compatibility, and check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool". Proton Experimental should work fine (at least it did for me).
TL;DR : Just add the Windows version of Mania Dash as a non-Steam game, then use Proton to run it.
