Motel 4: How to Run It

Motel 4 is the second track in the new Rejected Ideas Cup.

And while it isn't a drifter's best friend, it's possible to pick up a fair few boosts along the length of the roughly 1-2 minute track. (depending on class)

60 and 120cc are the easiest to drift in, since you go so slow. Just be careful of the sharpish turns on the track.

180cc+, however, might need a good mixture of proper strawberry usage (in time trials) and/or knowing if it's safe to drift (in both TT and VS Race).

Overall, shouldn't be too difficult unless you like the taste of grass, walls, and concrete.

My Logan Kart 8 Deluxe Speedrunning Tips And Tricks For Beginners (MLK8DSTATFB)

Welcome to MLK8DSTATFB! I swear I won't use that acronym again. So, Logan Kart 8 Deluxe is, needless to say, a hard game for beginners. So, I've created some tips to follow if you wanna speedrun the game! Just know that these aren't OBJECTIVELY right, just my opinions! ;)

1. Don't purple mini-turbo

I learned early on that the purple mini-turbo is EXTREMELY inefficient (at least compared to the orange and white mini-turbos). Instead of doing a purple mini-turbo, try to go for two orange mini-turbos, or even a white mini-turbo if you have enough space! :p

2. The meta is simple

The meta of the game is simple. Speedee in the Maserghini. But if you want some setups which stick out from the crowd, you can use these combos:

Robert in the Maserghini

Walogan in the Maserghini

Nagol in the Maserghini

Robert in the Standard Kart (for tight tracks like Miserable Rainy Stage)

Floshingdo in the Standard Kart (for Anarchy skips) :D

3. Work up the speeds

If you start with 120cc, don't instantly go to Anarchy. You can instead progress up the speeds, getting better and more used to faster speeds as you practise. :)

4. Work with strategies

Even if you don't want to, you should first check out the strategy of the track before going for a record. These following tracks will have a massive time difference if you do the strategy instead of normally playing it:

Edwin Speedway

Clogan Circuit

I-5 Loop

Offshore Platform

Notreal

Refracted Light Boulevard(?)

Motel 4 (?)

Tourist Destination :O

Notreal and Routing

Been a long time since I made a guide, but here I am again to discuss Notreal, the 3rd track in the Very Special Cup.

Notreal is normally a slog to get through if you don't drift, easily taking ~2 minutes per race on the slower engine speeds, and barely getting under that in 180cc. 240+cc is easier just because you go much faster.

But with drifting... it makes it much more bearable.

You see, if you charge up a drift all the way to the max, aka when your car is emitting white sparks, you can get a crazy speed boost that lasts quite a while, and it helps cut the track down to size a LOT.

On 60cc, this is especially important since you can do TWO of them on the front and back straights.

I'll now provide a small list of my personally recommended drifts for the first 3 engine classes to give a small synopsis at just how much time you can gain:

60cc:
1. Do an orange drift (orange sparks) at the starting hairpin
2. Charge up the white drift at the start of the uphill and then release it, timing is somewhat important
3. After going around the double left-hander into the chicane onto the back straight, charge up another white drift and then release it before you go downhill
4. (optional, a replacement for 3) If you don't get the third drift, you can charge up an orange or purple drift (purple sparks) along the downhill to make up for the lost speed
5. Heading back to the start/finish line, do an orange drift to build up speed to the hairpin and complete the lap
6. Repeat 1-5 on Lap 2

120cc:

1. Same as 60cc
2. Same as 60cc, but the timing's more important because you go faster in 120cc
3. Instead of a white drift, do a purple instead as the boost will take you much closer to the downhill section than before
4. (optional, replacement for 3) Same as 60cc, although I recommend orange in this case
5. Same as 60cc
6. Repeat 1-5 on Lap 2

180cc:

1. Instead of an orange, do a blue (blue sparks) instead, as you'll be going through the hairpin a lot quicker than before
2. Same as 60/120cc, but the timing is more strict/important than before
3. Instead of drifting, while the boost is active, use a strawberry on the back straight, extending the boost just a little longer
4. (For GP or optional if you can't do 3) Same as 120cc, blue/orange should be sufficient, orange is preferable, just mind your steering
5. Same as 60/120cc
6. Repeat 1-5 on Lap 2

The Secret of Parking Lot

Parking Lot is the 1st track in the Walogan Cup, the 3rd cup in the game.
And yet I pushed the boundaries of Parking Lot - No Skips until I got a 37.4 on it.
How? Well, through a pretty precise strat.
Lap 1:
- Do a small blue drift right off the starting line
- Do another small drift around the tight 2nd turn
- Drive normally until the turn before the chicane
- Do a orange drift around until you line up with the turn leading to the start/finish area
- Use strawberry as you approach the turn
Lap 2:
- With the speed of the strawberry, drive tightly (but normally) around the 1st turn
- Repeat the same process as Lap 1
- Use 2nd strawberry in the same spot
Lap 3:
- Repeat the same process as Lap 2
- Use 3rd and final strawberry in the same spot again
- Finish the time trial
Depending on how well you turned the car, you should be able to get under 40 seconds easily, or get down to around the 38 second mark if you know the timing of everything.

Which is the fastest way in Tourist Destination

So, this is my first guide. If you're seeing this right now then hooray I guess.

So anyway, this guide is about what way is fastest in Tourist Destination (the 3rd track of the rejected items wait nonono IDEAS cup. Tourist Destination has many different routes so here's what I think is the fastest:

1. Go through the building shortcut at the start
2. Start a drift
3. Stay on the beach, never go into the city area, as it has a large loop at the end of it that wastes a lot of time.
4. Use a mushroom on the ramp leading up to the bridge. I didn't do it in my record, but I think it leads to faster and safer laps.
5. By now, you should have a white mini-turbo charged up all the way from the second instruction. Use it and it should take you through the entire end section. If you didn't use your mushroom on instruction four, then either use it when you're boosting from the mini-turbo or at the end if you lose speed.

Alright, that's basically it. For a single lap.
