### Notes

- This is applicable only to running the game off a new file, people running the game off a completed file (NG+) both solo and co-op are not allowed to do this cause Introduction needs to be played.
- You need to run the game on the latest version (v1.22) and be sure you do not have the online pass installed because it makes the pod dialogue skip impossible.

### Proper, quality of life setup requirements for running Any% off a new file

- A modded Vita (you should have this anyway!!! especially with being able to record properly!)
- VitaShell (should be installed by default from the mod)
- Save Manager Plus (to backup and format your save data)

This is needed so you do not need to delete the entire game and reinstall just to clear off your save data and DLC, especially if you have a digital version of the game.

### Formatting Save Data

1. Open Save Manager Plus and go to your game's icon
2. Press X and then backup your data if you have any! You can have it decrypted or encrypted still but as long as it's backed up it's fine.
3. Once that's done, you can go down to the format option and proceed to format.
4. Now you're able to run the game off a new file as it creates new save data when you open the game.

### Removing the Online Pass

1. Open VitaShell
2. Go into "ux0:" and then go into the "addcont/" folder
3. If you know your game's ID (Save Manager Plus will tell you) you can either delete that entire folder or go into it and delete the folder labelled "LBPVNETPASSK0001". If you wish to reinstall the online pass later you need to delete the entire folder instead of just the DLC one, at the cost of needing to reinstall all your other DLC.
4. Go back to the VitaShell home and press triangle. Refresh LiveArea and license database and you'll be good.

### Actually doing the skip (for real this time)

1. Be sure your game is on the latest version, otherwise you'll only be able to do the pod dialogue skip (good for an All Levels run cause that needs to complete Introduction)
2. Boot up the game as normal OR you can boot up the game from the level quickstart right next to the regular start ![](/static/blob/rnqv2r4e.png)(if you do this, it does currently void the timing rules because when you leave intro, it happens before the character spawn)
3. Load into the game as normal and skip all cutscenes
4. Introduction should load and then shortly after it boots you out and loads you into the pod. If you started the game the normal way, wait until Sackboy spawns, then you can go out and press the level quickstart and have the same effect appear (and be legal with the timing for right now)
5. Once you're in the pod, you have to do the next part of the trick, which is the pod dialogue skip. If you can't do this, it's likely you have the online pass still installed. The setup goes as follows:

- During the zoom in while the narrator is talking, this is the only window of time you have to perform the trick otherwise it won't progress properly. Keep that in mind.
- When you spawn into the pod, immediately press circle, and then touch the My Pins button.
- Back out of My Pins with circle again and wait until the zoom in finishes.
- Once the zoom in has finished, the game should have the UI working as normal and you are able to touch La Marionetta and progress onto the first cutscene, and then onto the first normal level.

Congrats! You have now skipped Introduction and the pod dialogue, making this one of the few games now to not rely on pod dialogue and even one of the fewer games not to rely on playing Introduction in the Any% run! It's a good day to not be a LBP2 fan right about now. Don't worry, you'll lose all your time playing against NG+ runs anyway, but since it's split it doesn't matter. Play how you want to play.
