It sounds like you tried to set it to up and spray, which is banned iirc.
Just to clarify for any future readers of this post, the guideline is that when you press a button it should only do one action. What aaron was asking about is a method that some runners have adopted, including myself, where you change the function of a button mid run which is not banned. This allows you to use the same two buttons for quickspraying regardless of which character you are using. Each input is still 1 input to 1 action.

I used to play this game all the time on my original dreamcast. Saw this game at gdq by witwix and maxylobes and am really interested in learning the rout! My favorite character is the imoortal how do you unlock them? also how can you guys not do sewers? i hate that level xD Thanks for the help guys!
