So I was drunk and didn’t record it but I activated my scanner before we found ersa in her state .... dead ish and after the cut scene I skipped having to scan anything and went straight back to the next quest the sun shall fall. No scanning no examining..... sorry I’m not a speed runner and was .... wasted .... but this could be a way of skipping many investigation segments .....

you dont need to scan anything when you find ersa.
