Start the first Bounty and *make sure you subdue him for the extra cash* ,then buy Pickaxe and mine either #2 or #42 on this map" https://gyazo.com/3df8b5571f842ef550c5c75779595f38 "and then buy Horseshoes. You'll have exact amount of money for rilfe reload if you want to buy that aswell since the Ferguson reloads really slow without any upgrades or stats. There is no good place to buy the upgrades, so after you quitwarp back to Empire after "Law & Order" is the best place to buy it I guess.

Actually screw buying the pickaxe, that 1 bounty is enough for both horseshoes and rifle reload upgrade. My bad for not thinking :) You can kill him, but it's slower than subdue.

Just watching someone playing Gun casually and noticed that the horse didn't despawn on Escape the Jail https://clips.twitch.tv/PiercingDependableApeGingerPower . Gonna test and see if this is even worth doing.

Tested it a bit and it seem that the horse doesn't despawn when you start the mission *Escape the Jail* manually.
EDIT: Don't put the horse under or on the bridge, that will despawn the horse.
EDIT#2: Starting the mission from the map is what despawns the horse

New little change in any%:
Before you start "The Red Hand Gang" you do 1 bounty then start the mission. Then on this map https://gyazo.com/c2996fa474bba2555e4b3a0a4a97c558  there are golds marked with numbers. Those are the golds that you mine for money. 1 is picked up during "Quick Killer". 2 and 3 is picked up during "Whore Coach". After Law & Order you buy Horseshoes + Rifle Damage + Rifle Reload. 4 and 5 is picked up during "Ambush the Train". 6 is picked up during "Defend the Hideout" and 7 is picked up during "Take Down Hoodoo". After you finished the mission you buy 1 dynamite upgrade (useful for "Attack the Fort" and first phase of Magruder).

I did some testing on the quail trick (for those who don't know what that is https://www.twitch.tv/videos/304515099 ) and for it to work you need to stand in a certain spot and have the camera in a certain direction.

So I was doing some testing on my stream today and found a way to possible not softlock in "Hollister's Fort". There a line the last indian says (he says "I am in your debt") before the cutscene begins, wait for that line to finish before skipping the cutscene.
