I put the d3d8.dll and scripts folder into my directory but now the exe wont launch the game. If I remove just the scripts folder, game starts again. Would anyone know what im doing wrong?

CLEO scripts or any other modification not listed here are banned. That's what you're doing wrong.

So im not supposed to fix my crosshair aiming up and to the right?

That issue is fixed by simply turning off widescreen in the display options, you don't need mods for that
