Speedrunning the prologue is really straight forward for the most part. Moving quickly is the key to getting a low time for this part. Most of the time, the long movements will help you go quickly. Also, this might only save a minuscule amount of time, but any time saved is good; know what items to hold down and which one to click. Once you get to R.L. Stein's typewriter, he will begin to say that he has writer's block, right as he says the word "ink,' the drawer on the lower right will light up. Do not hold this down. You can make a time save by just clicking it. When it reveals the ink, hold down on it. The ink cannot be obtained by clicking on it. Then hold down on the typewriter. You will then hear a knock on the door as Stein will tell you to get under the desk. Spam under the desk until you hide under there. Hold down the eyes button to hide until Slappy starts to talk when he enters. Once Slappy starts laughing and leaving the study, look over at the egyptian statue behind the desk and to the right. spam click under the egyptian statue so that when the walk icon pops up you go straight to the statue. The statue has a book in it that you need to hold down on. Collect it and then immediately make your way toward the fireplace where you collect the first page, then make your way toward the door of the study. Look at the bookshelf to the left of the door and hold down on the books that are to the right of the bookshelf and they are at eye level. This will knock down the books revealing a key behind it. You only have to click the key, and open the door by tapping the lock icon once you step in front of it. If you are speedrunning the full game, I suggest turning on the light by the front door before you unlock it. This will help you once you finish chapter 1 so you have the light shined on Slappy when he's in the study. If you are only speedrunning the prologue, I suggest that you shouldn't turn on the light so you can save more time.
