Magic Glitch

Select magic SPECIAL on options.

Get the minimum amount of books from mages
When killing the boss at stage 1, hold magic button
Don't release it.
After the black screen, you can release it. Don't get all books, only 1 book (if you have none), or it will not work.
Wait until camp ends with 3 books on the ground.
As soon as you get control of your character, he/she will release a level 1 magic.
If it worked, you'll see 2 lines of magic bars

Obs: When using Ax, if you hold more than the max magic possible of the character, game will softlock.
Obs 2: When using Tyris, if you hold more than the max magic, she will use other character magic, but if you hold too long, she will softlock too.

Magic Glitch 2.0 Part 1: How it works

Hello everyone, Shime here! Recently Habeebs posted a guide about the Magic Glitch and how it works. It's a glitch that was found a while ago, but no one knew if it would be useful for the runs, giving the fact that, to make it work, you have to wait 30 seconds on the first camp. In fact it isn't useful, but on the Easy difficulty. Mazaa got the WR recently with Tyris, showing that, on Normal difficulty, that trick is way more useful, specially with Tyris, since on some waves that has more enemies, and on certain boss fights, magic can be quicker.

There's a good and simple setup for the Magic Overflow Glitch, which is the follow:

-You need to have the special magic bar (it's the standard magic bar on Options)

-You can only grab 1 or 2 magic books during stage 1. If you grab only one, you'll need to grab at least one magic book during the camp, or else it won't work.)

- Before stage 1 ends, hold the magic button. Do not release it until the screen changes to the camp, and it needs to change while the bar is fully charged.

As soon the camp starts, you can release the magic button and wait the 30 seconds (as I said above, grab one magic book if you just one one magic book during stage 1)

As soon the stage 2 starts, Tyris automatically will cast the magic, and voilá, you have the Magic Overflow!

Since you have the special bar, you can trespass the magic limit. What happens is that, when you use a certain amount of magic, you can use another character's magic, such as Gilius, Ax and Tyris. Due to that, it's possible for Ax and Gilius casting Tyris' lvl 6 magic, which ends up being really useful on certain fights. However, as mentioned by Habeebs, passing too much may softlock and even hardlock the game, so it's quite precise how you handle the magic overflow glitch.

Until this guide was released, no tests have been made on Ax and Gilius. Later I'll edit this guide talking about how it may work with them.

Magic Glitch 2.0 Part 2: Magic Level per wave (Tyris Flare-Normal)

So, with the Magic Overflow Glitch, as I talked previously, it's more quicker to finish almost every wave with magic. And atop of that, you can use properly all the magic you have until the Golden Death Armor (last boss before Dark Guld), and still will have some magic leftovers. I'm gonna make a full guide of the least magic level you can use in every wave/boss fight playing with Tyris Flare on Normal.

2nd Stage:

1st wave/2nd wave(1 Red Greness/Zakkar and 1 Mounted Red Magician/Red Zakkar) = lvl 4 magic (get the Chicken Leg)
3rd/4th/5th wave (3 White Skeletons/ 2 Black Magicians) = No magic, use the Chicken Leg
6th/7th/8th wave (5 Black Skeletons/3 Red Skeletons) = lvl 5 magic
Boss Fight (Bronze Death Armor/2 White Skeletons) = lvl 6 magic, use the chicken leg once if you still have it, if not go for normal attacks.

3rd Stage

1st Wave(2 Blue Grenesses/Zakkars) = Lvl 3 magic
2nd Wave (1 Black Greness/Zakkar) = Lvl 4 magic
3rd Wave (3 Green Magicians) = No magic, one long jump attack will do.
4th Wave (2 Green Minotauros) = Bait them into the pit.
5th Wave (2 Purple Grenesses/Zakkars) = Let them walk into the pit.
6th Wave (2/3 Purple Greness/Zakkar) = Try to throw them into the pit
Boss Fight (4 Purple Hell Lizards) = Lvl 6 Magic

4th Stage

1st/2nd wave (3 Black Skeletons) = Fall into pit
3rd wave (4 Black Skeletons) = Lvl 6 Magic
4th Wave (1 Purple Hell Lizard/ 2 Zakkars) = Hit the Hell Lizard with a long jump attack. As soon he falls, charge the lvl 5 magic
5th Wave (2 Purple Hell Lizards) = Lvl 6 Magic
6th Wave (1 Mounted Red Magician/1 Red Hell Lizards) = Lvl 6 Magic (Get the Dragon)
7th Wave (3 Red Hell Lizards) = Lvl 6 Magic
Boss Fight (2 Red Minotauros/2 Red Hell Lizards) = Lvl 6 Magic, one dragon flame hit (or a long jump attack, if you lose the dragon)

5th Stage

1st Wave (2 Purple Lizards) = Lvl 6 Magic
2nd Wave (1 Mounted Black Zakkar/2 Black Grenesses) = Lvl 4 Magic (Get the Dragon)
3rd Wave (1 Mounted Black Magician/1 Black Zakkar/2 Black Grenesses) = Lvl 4 Magic
4th Wave (1 Black Greness/Zakkar) = No Magic, bait the first into the pit, the second one is more easy to fall
5th Wave (3 Red Magicians, 1 of them is mounted) = No magic, use the Dragon Flame here (need some testing here)
6th Wave (2 Red Minotauros/1 Red Greness/Zakkar) = Lvl 6 magic, use the dragon flame once on each Minotauro
7th Wave (3 Red Zakkars) = Lvl 4 magic
8th Wave (2 Golden Grenesses/1 Golden Zakkar) = Lvl 4 Magic
Boss Fight (2 Silver Death Armors) = Lvl 6 and 5 Magic

6th Stage

1st Wave (3 Black Magicians) = Lvl 1 Magic (3 Magic Books)
2nd Wave (1 Green Hell Lizard/Black Greness/Zakkar, then the Blue Minotauro) = Lvl 5 magic on the first part. As soon the Minotauro get out of the door, go right close to the door and do a simple jump attack. Lock him in the pillar and give 5 long jump attacks.
3rd Wave (2 Purple Hell Lizards/Grenesses, then 2 Blue Minotauros) = Defeat the first 4 enemies with a lvl 6 magic. As soon the Minotauros spawns, give a lvl 6 magic and a lvl 1 magic (3 Magic Books)
4th Wave (3 Black Skeletons) = Lvl 6 magic
5th Wave (3 Purple Magicians) = Lvl 3 magic
6th Wave (3 Red Skeletons) = Lvl 6 Magic
7th Wave (1 Golden Greness/Zakkar) = Lvl 4 Magic
8th Wave (2 Golden Grenesses/1 Golden Zakkar) = Lvl 4 Magic
Boss Fight (Golden Death Armor/3 Red Hell Lizards) = Lvl 6 and 5 Magic

Magicless Dark Guld Fight.

The best strategy to defeat Dark Guld is stunlocking him with the same setup I use on the first Blue Minotauro (see the video or the magic guide). However, the way you do this fight is basically the same you do on Death Bringer in the first Golden Axe (giving long jump attacks from one side to the other). Connect 11 long jump attacks on DG and the fight will be done in 23/22 seconds.

Try not to go too up before doing the simple jump, and also, get the right timing to connect those LJAs, or else Dark Guld will either avoid the attack or counter you with the axe.
