QE here,

I'm new to the concept of speedrunning and have an interest in RPG and Survival Horror type games. In particular, I want to revisit Final Fantasy VII-X (possibly XII and Tactics) and learn the new strats that have been learned.

My exposure to the speedrunning concept is primarily from the runs of the FFVII-FFIX marathons held during the GDQ events. What a great YouTube recommendation these ended up being! Games that in my childhood took me many hours to complete are now being rushed through in approximately the time it takes to work an 8hr shift, plus or minus depending on the game. Very impressive!

I haven't touched a console game in a number of years and opted to purchase a PS2 and a few games to get myself setup and start practicing these strats with a goal of putting this up on Twitch to track my progress.

Going to start poking my head around the other categories to see what I need to start doing the game capture. Planning on starting with FFIX and devoting the remainder of the year to acclimating myself back to Gaia, Zidane, and crew.
