Hello, I am Echo/StarstruckEcho. My favorite speedrunner is Shizzal and Pr0tal. The biggest issue I have when speedrunning is, I forget that I'm not competing with other people, and I'm just working on self-improvement. I want to speedrun Minecraft 1.16. I also want to learn to speedrun Portal 1.

Sometimes, competing with other people helps with self-improvement. I would never have gotten some of my better times in SOR4 if it wasn't for the strong competition.

For example, I was happy to leave SOR1 Blaze Easy at over 1 hour thinking it was a decent time, then others ran it so I got it down to a 59 minute run, and eventually all the way down to 52:55. It's funny looking back to think that I thought 1 hour 1 minute was "the" time lol so yes, having fun is the most important part, but the competition can help make it fun also.
