DROPSY ANY% - Current Route (as of 22nd February 2017)

__**::TL;DR Version::**__

Any% for Dropsy essentially entails getting from start to finish the quickest way possible. The timer begins when the runner presses ‘Play’ on the Title Screen, and ends when they give their final click on the ‘Longest Hug’ at the end of the game. The game itself has a fairly linear storyline and the day/night cycle seems to fit somewhat appropriately with the current run.

There are only two instances in the run where it’s faster to sleep. For more details on these instances, quickly read the short **SPLIT 7: (Band Members)** segment in the Full Walkthrough below.

A lot of the ‘dialogue’ can be rapidly clicked through, but as it stands, I don’t have a clue how it might be possible to skip cutscenes – so the ‘dialogue’ in a few of those are [currently] unskippable (mostly the cutscenes involving **GREENBEARD**).

Note: At the moment, I’m currently using 10 splits for Any%. I prefer to run like this, but I don’t deem them necessary. It’s up to you whether you want to use splits, and feel free to make your own points to split at along the way.
Note2: I’m going to test whether it’s quicker to take the forest path, or the road into town.


__**::Full Walkthrough::**__


**SPLIT 1: (Mom’s Grave)**

Begin the run upon clicking ‘Play’.

After exiting the dream sequence, have Dropsy pick up the PHOTO FRAME next to the bed, before proceeding right and grabbing the BOX OF SNACKS out of the fridge.

Leave *Home* and open the chest to pick up the POCKET WATCH. Head right and give the BOX OF SNACKS to **BIG BIRD**.
Leave the *Tent* and you’ll get a {small cutscene} with **DAD** – the dialogue can be clicked through. Don’t forget to head left and quickly grab the TOMATO from the garden patch. Then, walk right and get dog to dig up the dirt pile to grab the SOCK.
Leave *Outside Tent* area and continue walking right until you reach the Park. {Short cutscene.} Continue south to get to *Town*, then right and up towards the *Storefront*. Hug the **CHICKEN MAN**, then follow him into the *Costume Shop*. Immediately leave after {short cutscene}. Walk right, and up, to *Graveyard Road*.

Proceed left to the *Graveyard*. Continue until you reach **MOM’S GRAVE** on the far left. Place the PHOTO FRAME down, then **DOG** will want you to also place the SOCK.

**SPLIT 2: (Dad’s Tyre)**

Click through **DOG**’s dialogue and head back to the *Storefront*. Continue left and hug **CHICKEN MAN** again. Pick up the BIRD MASK he drops before moving back the way you came to the *Outside Tent* area.

{Short cutscene.} Turn right back around to the previous area and head north just after the Book Tree. {Short bird cutscene.} Move Dropsy near the bird’s nest and have him equip the BIRD MASK. Once **BIG BIRD** carries him into the nest, grab DAD’S TYRE, then readjust Dropsy to be slightly closer to the left edge before taking the BIRD MASK off. Head back *Home*.

It’s gotten dark and **DAD** is no longer with his motorcycle. Enter and exit the *Tent* until morning. You should enter/exit a total of 10 times. (This should be faster than heading all the way back into Home to sleep.)
Take DAD’S TYRE and hand it to him.

**SPLIT 3: (Mouse Buddy)**

Click through all of **DAD**’s dialogue. {Medium-ish cutscene ensues.}
Head left through the *Junkyard* areas. Avoid the **MUTANT RAT**… it spooks Dropsy. Continue onto the end *Junkyard* area.

Open the Control Panel and activate the up arrow (for late-game **DOG** rescue). Move left and have **DOG** dig up the dirt pile. Dropsy can then open the trapdoor and retrieve the FRIDGE KEY.

Move back to the rat area and use the FRIDGE KEY on the fridge. Retrieve a GROSS SANDWICH and place it on the nearest plate-on-the-ground. Once the **MUTANT RAT** crawls over, grab another GROSS SANDWICH. Avoiding the **MUTANT RAT** again, move right to press the red light, turning it green. Place the new GROSS SANDWICH on this plate.

Avoiding the **MUTANT RAT** one last time, move back to the control panel in the trunk of the truck on the left. Press the right lever, then the left one (drops junk and moves the claw over). Once it’s past the junk pile in the middle, press the left lever, then right (picks up more junk, then moves it over to knock the bathtub off).

Position Dropsy closer to where **MOUSE** will greet him.

**SPLIT 4: (S-Corp Burglary)**

Completely exit the *Junkyard*. {Small-ish cutscene} with **DAD**, taking you both *Home*.

Exit the *Tent* completely and head into *Town*. Continue right until you get to *S-Corp Street*, however, you need to be in this area at Night. [Including the first entry] enter and exit the area a total of 13 times.

(I need to test whether it might, in fact, be quicker to sleep in the bed at *Home* or not.)

You can now walk Dropsy towards the entrance, but switch to **MOUSE** and enter the small hole on the left side of the building to enter it. Send **MOUSE** over to the computer desk and unlock the door. Re-control Dropsy and send him into *S-Corp*. 

Position him over the far-right metal door and control **MOUSE** again. Enter the small hole and manoeuvre **MOUSE** to the door panel above him so the **SECURITY DRONE** can shoot it. Move right and send **MOUSE** up the pipe so he can knock the grate down, then send him over to the control panel for the MEDICINE so the other **SECURITY DRONE** can shoot it. Finally, head into the middle room and have **MOUSE** press the button, switching the **SECURITY DRONES** to Lounge Mode. Return through the hole to Dropsy.

Re-control Dropsy and send him in to retrieve the MEDICINE. Leave *S-Corp* completely.

When the screen starts blacking out as Dropsy leaves the building, that’s where I hit my fourth split.

**SPLIT 5: (Clown Car)**

Return *Home* and give **DAD** the MEDICINE. Dropsy will go to bed. Answer the knock at the door. {Short-ish cutscene, but you can click through the dialogue.}

Once you regain control, leave the *Tent*. {Short cutscene} will give you **BIRD**. Make your way back to *S-Corp* and speak to the **SECRETARY** inside. Skip the dialogue and she will give you S-CORP ID. Use it to enter the gate next to her and head up the elevator.

Walk over to **GREENBEARD** and a {medium-ish cutscene} will occur. Once it ends, leave *S-Corp* and once on the street, walk right and down. Then walk past the *Abandoned Farmhouse* and into the next area. Present your S-CORP ID to the **S-CORP GUARD** and keep walking until you meet **GREENBEARD** in the *S-Corp Circus Tent*. {Another medium cutscene.}
Leave the *S-Corp Circus Tent* and you should now be free to fast-travel via the map.

Just before opening the map to fast-travel is where I hit my fifth split.

**SPLIT 6: (Where did DOG go?)**

Head to *Mine Road* now. Fast-travel to *Graveyard Road*, then head right. Continue right and have **MOUSE** open the gate to the *Airport*. Leave Dropsy where he is and send **BIRD** over to collect the MINE KEY. Re-control Dropsy and head back to the *Mine Road*.

Use the MINE KEY to unlock the gate. Go in and move left before controlling **DOG**. He just needs to dig up the single dirt pile containing both the PAGAN AMULET and SKELETON HAND. Collect both. Move right to the mine door and pick up the BROKEN LEVER. Move right again and open the box to collect the DEAD BIRD.

**BIRD** wants you to bury her, but naaaah.

Leave the *Mine Entrance* and fast-travel back to the *S-Corp Circus Tent*. Walk in to see **GREENBEARD** and you’ll get another {medium-ish cutscene}.

**SPLIT 7: (Band Members)**

Once you regain control, leave the *S-Corp Circus Tent* once again and fast-travel *Outside Home*.

Walk down, then left, then far-left + down so that you reach the *No-Vampires Area*. Present the PAGAN AMULET to the **PAGAN WOMAN** and she will allow you to pass. Move north in the next area, to enter the *Viking Enclave*. Then, enter the *Temple*. Over on the far-right, collect the GARLIC from the wall. Exit the *Temple* and the **BAND MEMBERS** will now be there. Collect the BAND CASSETTE from the table, and re-enter the *Temple*. Sleep ‘til Dusk.

Leave the *Temple* and fast-travel to the *Storefront*. Enter the *Record Store* and play the BAND CASSETTE on the Boombox. {Short-ish cutscene.} The **RECORD STORE OWNER** will give you a FLYER. Leave the building and fast-travel back to the *Viking Enclave*. Enter the *Temple* one last time and sleep ‘til Morning.

Exit, then hand the FLYER to the nearest **BAND MEMBER**. You will be taken back to the *Record Store*. Leave.

**SPLIT 8: (The Hermit and his Son)**

Move to the *Graveyard*. Move across until you see the **COSTUME STORE OWNER**. Hand him the POCKETWATCH and move back to the *Storefront*. Enter/exit this area 3 times so it becomes Dawn. Enter the *Costume Shop* and retrieve the VAMPIRE MASK. Leave and fast-travel back to the *Viking Enclave*.

Talk to the **BAND MEMBER** under the truck. She will fix the boat for you. Move over and hop into it.

{Boat cutscene.}

Once that’s over, continue left until you see the **HERMIT** fixing his generator. Turn it off once he moves inside, then follow him in. Don the VAMPIRE MASK. Once he leaves, retrieve the TORN PHOTO from on the right wall.

Move back to the boat and once back at the *Viking Enclave*, fast travel to the *Storefront* again. Give the BROKEN LEVER to the **ACTIVIST** to receive the LEVER. **You must give this to him first.** Then give him the TORN PHOTO. {Cutscene – you can skip dialogue.} You’ll arrive back at the *Hermit’s Hut*. You will receive the OTHER LEVER.

**SPLIT 9: (DOG Returns!)**

Head back to the boat, and once in the *Viking Enclave* for the last time, fast-travel to *Graveyard Road* and head right to go back to the *Mine Entrance*.

Use both LEVERS on the mine door, then head inside. **You don’t actually need Dropsy in here for Any%.** First, take control of **MOUSE**. Send him into a small hole directly left, and if you keep clicking down-ish, he’ll start going in the right direction. You do, however, need to get him to knock off a grate on the right and a grate on the left when he reaches the bottom-most area. Manoeuvre him back out of the hole, then move down the mine a bit into another hole just after a doorway on the left.

Once again, just click generally right and he’ll move in the ideal direction. Once you start seeing a green path, click upwards a bit and you’ll reach the room where you need to chew the **TURRET**’s cord.

Immediately switch to **BIRD** and fly through the holes where the grates were. Move across and up to a small hole next to the elevator door. You’ll appear in a desert area with pillars. Continue across the ground to another small hole on the far-left. After entering, move down until **BIRD** can use the control panel. Press the Up Arrow button and then move back the way you came.

Once you’re in the same area as Dropsy, switch back to him and exit the *Mine*. You will also need to exit the *Mine Entrance* to fast-travel. Fast-travel over to the *Junkyard*.

You’ll get {a few annoying cutscenes} in between each item, but the **JUNKYARD GATEKEEPER** wants a tomato, then a garlic, then a bone. Hand these to him in this order.

Once the gate is open, continue to the furthest area of the *Junkyard*. Retrieve **DOG** from the minecart.

Picking up **DOG** is where I hit my ninth split. We’re onto endgame now, lads.

**FINAL SPLIT: (Endgame/Longest Hug)**

Click through **DOG**’s dialogue and head back to the first *Junkyard* area. Fast-travel to the *S-Corp Circus Tent*. Head in and talk to **GREENBEARD**. {Medium-ish cutscene.}

After **DAD** takes you into *The Shed*, spam click to get out and you’ll then see Dropsy in bed. {Short cutscene.} Once he awakens, send him outside the *Tent*. {Short cutscene.}

No more fast-travel anymore, unfortunately.

Walk your way back to the *S-Corp Circus Tent*. Once in the area outside, a {long cutscene} will begin. Once it begins on an actual cinematic, you’ll be able to skip it after a few seconds.

You must now send Dropsy out of the *S-Corp Circus Tent* on a very linear path to endgame. There’s only one route to head through that’s very straightforward, so I won’t explain it.

But once at the *Pillar Area*, head inside the bright portal.
Continue right until you reach **GREENBEARD**. Attempt to Hug him.
Dropsy will be shot and teleported into space or something.

But he’s okay.

Continue through the final area until you reach the *Throne Room*.
Have Dropsy Hug his **TRUE MOTHER**.

Time ends when you click on **TRUE MOTHER** for the Longest Hug.
