I have no idea how this works I think it might have something to do with glitch where you cant be damaged by the boss but I'm not sure

I think its because when you were lagging while entering the cave you went further in than was intended which got rid of the cutscene where you walk up to the boss, which after said cutscene, the doors close. But you were moving around normally, which meant the cutscene was gone.

yeah that's probably it, I had a lot of windows open so I agree it was probably lag.
