You can not hit multiple enemies at once, so grouping enemies together is not good for this game as opposed to other beat em up games like Final Fight and Turtles in Time.
You are invincible while performing a throw, so use that to your advantage.
For all of the bosses except Clawster and Sentinel, the ideal strategy is to use the diving attack since they tend to have trouble responding to it.
You can pin Clawster in a corner and mash the attack button and he won't be able to do anything about it, and Sentinel is only vulnerable when the floating orbs around it are gone.
