I have done this before, doing this the fastest way possible for it to even be considered faster than the route we use is super inconsistent, and even then i still think its slower since you end up further away from the jump spot.
If you're really good at the route we use currently i doubt this would be faster at all. Probably a lot slower even.

I remember catalyst doing something similar in a run and it wasn't faster it was slower.
