I know that DarQ_Massacres has a guide, but I felt like I can improve it a bit.
- Play the game casually.
Play through the game untimed first. Here are the notes I took during my casual runs before I actually ran the game. These are the level answers:
True (2nd down) 7 Moon Motion Detector 13,1 (4th down) 3rd from left Green, Blue, Purple, Orange Yellow, Red, Yellow, Red (3rd down) Hold lever so you walk on dividing line Position = # of lines. - Muscle memory.
Keep playing casually for this step. Don't remember an answer level? Look it up, but after you finish, do it again. Keep running casually until you have memorized every answer. This step is probably the most important, because you need to know how to finish the level on the spot, and quickly.
- After completing the game once, go to the shop. The door is on the south wall of the main room.
Once you're in the shop, buy the speed boost. This is extremely important for running the game. You will NOT have a chance against the record if you don't have the speed boost, you just don't. It is VITAL to speedrunning the game.
- Once you feel comfortable playing casual, start timing yourself.
After you have finally memorized the answers, try running for real and time yourself. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE SPEEDRUNNING, ALSO RECORD YOURSELF. If you pull a rabbit out of a hat, you're not going to have any proof you did so. I will not accept videoless runs, because I have no idea if you actually did the run or not.
- If you make a tiny mistake, it's not the end of the world.
If you didn't enter the door on accident, that's ok. If you enter the wrong door on accident, that's ok. You can make that up time-wise. Major mistakes, ex. messing up on the Eye and having to restart the level, or dying on the four-shape bridge puzzle because you pressed the wrong button, it's game over and you're gonna want to restart.
- Don't give up! My time (the WR) is about 2 and a half minutes. It's going to be very hard to beat. Don't give up on your first few runs. I ran the game over and over and over again to perfect it. You have to do that too if you're looking to compete with my run. I believe in you.
