Recently I've been running Slobber Knocker Anywhere mode in this game and it seems like a good mode which would benefit from a leaderboard here for it, since the mode is essentially trying to beat all the screens in the fastest time.

@Spriter I think the issue with adding this is that there is no time limit and although we could impose one in the rules its basically the same as the mode we already have just in a different location. When a few more times get added to regular slobberknocker id be happy to include it but as there are so few players on there now i wouldnt want to dilute it. Il be adding a time myself soon so hopefully it will fill up quickly. That being said if anyone else has an opinion on it let us know.
With Anywhere mode in Slobber Knocker there is a set number of people to beat so there is essentially an ending point to it, it's just about beating that amount of people the fastest. It's essentially the same as a time trial in racing games.
There's 6 stages (Fountains, New York, Outside Arena, Parking Lot, Backstage and Locker Room) and for each stage you need to beat 4 people. After completing the Locker Room stage the run ends.
Ok iv tested out the mode a few times. I guess its more of a speedrun than regular slobberknocker is and if there is a few of you that want to run it then im happy to add it. Its been added as a subcategory in slobberknocker now.
Iv also decided to allow CAWS in slobberknocker because there probably should be a mode where you can use them. If you guys have any objections to this let me know.
I definitely think CAWs shouldn't be allowed since the mode is heavily influenced by character stats, so it would just lead to super inflated 100 overall characters dominating the category and I don't think that would make it a very interesting run.
I dont think it makes that big of a difference when you can use guys like Lesnar, Triple H, Goldberg, Taker etc. I cant see many people going to the level of maxing out a caw for slobberknocker. There should be somewhere on here that allows people to wrestle with whoever they want. The only real difference from those guys would be like a plus 2 in speed i cant see that dominating the category.
just personally speaking, i feel like running with anything other than the vanilla characters with everything they're given regularly takes the fun out of it (as both a viewer and someone that is interested in participating).
a separate category for edited runs & vanilla runs sounds cool to me, cause i'd be interested in both if they were split.
I can see your point im just conscious of adding too many categories and spreading the player base too thin but I could see it freshening up season mode. Theres only 4 of us on slobberknocker atm so 4 categories seems excessive.
I agree with the notion that CAWs and edited movesets be separate from vanilla runs since it's more fun instinctively to get the most out of what's available rather than creating the most broken thing possible and blasting through everything, and them being mixed together potentially takes that away, though I definitely see the logistical reasoning behind not wanting to make two extra categories for the mode just for that. Though the biggest benefit of having them be separate is that it could be significantly more diverse with the different move sets and whatnot as people work towards the perfect wrestler. There's more upside than downside imo.
Ok after seeing these opinions on this, after talking to mods and viewing comments from the newlegacy stream it does seem like people want both so wel update the leaderboards today. Itl take me some time to work out what runs need to be where and how we should set it up so keep an eye out for a forum post later today.
As I said my concern is spreading the player base too thin and we want to keep it as competitive as possible so wel keep an eye on the boards over the next month or 2 and if its dead wel revert back to how it is now. Theres been a lot of changes to page recently and a lot of new players so wer still figuring things out.
