SpainI always ran the game on psxjin and after some tests it seems that epsxe is indeed faster (no surprise here tbh) but at the cost of weird technical inconsistencies (like framedrops). It's hard to decide on this but personally I would rather stick to an emu that is NOT modular like epsxe.

I think it goes like this in terms of speed:
Fastest: PS3/360 Decent: PS2/PS4 (virtually the same version) Not that decent: Gamecube (disc change) Slow: Dreamcast (disc change, no manual glitch)
If you can't run it on a real console I suggest PS2 emu would be the convenient way. I don't think it's necessary to separate categories at all.
Call me crazy but I'm 100% sure that there has always been that extra step to choose PC/Console because that's how the leaderboards have worked for this game since the times Trance and other people were also mods and made the transition to full-game leaderboards (and that means that it remained the same for the time I was not a mod). It was a non-issue. You might probably noticed it now because you made a mistake submitting.
And @Kil13rFTW , my reaction is being more agressive because I feel that there's always a dumb excuse to try to make me look bad as a mod, and you in particular called me some dumb shit in the past so I know you always try to bait me into being mad in my replies.
But whatever, as I said, the PC/Console thing has always been there pretty much. That's it.

Zooball I think you've been running the US version, because on the video at least it didn't feel like 50hz and it said CAPCOM USA on the screen title. But yes, the JPN version is slightly faster anyways.
C'mon guys we're not trying to make console obsolete. That way to submit has been the same for a long time. To avoid confussion about it, I changed it to "Platform Category" to make it more clear.
As a supermod for this game since the beginning I think that all of this shit has been blown out of proportion.
If you end up looking past the name of the runner that has submitted a run (and you clearly have problems with him on a personal level at this point) and you decide to reject based on that, you are going to give him more reasons to keep this "drama" going.
It is extremely retarded that Psarthex's chatters ended up attempting to troll Carcinogen's chat when all this shit started with Succint's first rejection and it was all a matter of clarifying the reason behind that rejection via this forum or DMs. You can't reject someone's run because you think he's violating ToS or whatever without going into details and expecting that person to just "stop" attempting to get his supposedly legit run up the leaderboards. So this could have been resolved without global sr.com admins getting involved.
Also if someone wants new categories please make good suggestions not troll ones, thank you.
I'm sick of seeing the "RE community" drawn as this fucking shithole of pointless drama every 3-4 months for stupid reasons like this. This community has NEVER been in the spotlight for good reasons. That's really sad tbh.
If you absolutely need to run the game on a PC just run the Steam version tbh. It's a decent port and the fastest one.
I think focusing on NG categories would be a better idea :P
It's alright then. The thing is, when I got to see the category it was all empty (Khomchik deleted his run apparently) so it made no sense at all to have that up there without a single run.
