CanadaCategory has been added. At request of Tibs and Flygon the timer will start at 0.00 instead a start point until further notice. I also only added Any% and 120 Stars for now as 242 is rarely ran.
I am a Moderator of the Category Extensions and here is the status on the category being added: We only add categories if there is runs by 3 separate people and currently we have 2/3 runs. After 1 more run of the category is done with video proof and a request is made here https://www.speedrun.com/smgce/thread/yg33h the category will be added.
The categories would be extremely similar to 246 and 602 the only difference being no Super Mario Galaxy 2. You can find those categories along with a lot more Multi-Game 3D Mario speedruns here. https://www.speedrun.com/multimario
Having a rule that you cannot submit to the leaderboard because a new game came out is very arbitrary. I highly agree with eden that if you want to keep this leaderboard archived somewhere with these specific times you should archive it on a spreadsheet. Having the category exist only because a mod and a former mod felt like keeping it also feels like it isn't what the community wants and only what the mods want. Wouldn't it be a little strange if submissions to 982 were closed after Odyssey came out? The two best options are to either delete the category and keep the leaderboard archived or allow submissions to the category.
the community sum of best for any% is currently 1:10:53.45 so that would be the current theoretical fastest time a human could achieve

The two most common split times are Course Clear or when the screen goes to red and shows your score. I would advice against splitting on flagpole because it requires timing it while also playing the game while the other two you're just waiting.
you just do World 4 up to 4-MH and then do 4-2 Warp, besides that its mostly the same as the WiiU version but you skip a few stars

Seems like a cool idea although it has a few problems.
- When a new mario game comes out for the switch the category will be obsolete which also happens to console series meaning two different categories become legacy.
- The "full collection" run does not include Super Mario Maker 2 Story Mode or any New Super Mario Bros U. Deluxe content.
- Requiring the All-Stars release which is limited time meaning that in the future this category will be exclusive to those who have All-Stars.
