Learned about this game recently. Just got it for PC. Can't wait to learn the route and see how running this game feels.
Played it a bit casually yesterday to take a break between other game run practices, and was fun. Watched this show as a kid a good bit and didn't cross my mind that games would have been made for the show.
I'm gonna run this on PC, if there are any tips and things to be aware of that aren't so obvious from watching y'alls runs. Feel free to let me know.
I discovered this game today scrolling down the list of games on the site.
Watched Some the the runs and thought this game looked fun. Whelp after running .Hack//Fragment I loaded this up to practice, learn the game, get use to the controls. Had a blast, I am enjoying the visual style, the weird characters... I think I'm enjoying the story? But hard to say since I gotten to little of it. But I like the whole sins and the characters that yell at me while exploring the tower.
Can't wait to beat the game a few times casually to start practicing the run.
The guide is also very helpful. Though I am curious if there any update to the route or anything new to keep in mind?
((Here my vod of todays exploration of the game))
Hello!!
I started speedrunning Swagman when I found the game tucked away in a box when unpacking. Though have to use an emulator since my PS1 is not in any of my boxes. Lost in the move lol.
But I enjoy the game and as I route and optimize my any% run, GOD the swamp level is a PAIN! I'm just bad at it lol. I been working to get this fun game onto the site. Which baffled me starting my runs and learning there wasn't a page already! This game isn't that much of a hidden gem or anything.
Though I hope some of y'all pick up this game and if you enjoy it perhaps give the Pumpkin Patch Boss Any% run a go. Pretty sure it can get to sub 8m30s.
I noticed in the resource area there are no available splits. So I made a template for Any% https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WILL-0QORAgg7JMZNL5OaxzxIwzGhaGh/view?usp=share_link
Starting to play more of this game and am considering it to be the new game I run for a month or two. Though going to try and unlock some of the other characters I have seen in some videos.
I been looking through games that I enjoy and plan to give my hand at seeing if I enjoy speedrunning this game I enjoy a great deal.
But I have notice there isn't a Malkavian Any% run and I am curious as to why that is? Is there a downside to Any% as a Malkavian compared to Nosferatu or the other two categories?
I do see Malkavian's are used for 100% runs, which I am also curious to the why for that as well.
I tried searching for the answer but couldn't find anything, so figured I asked directly.
Hey, I am practicing runs on the Switch version. Sort of really bad at the Polestar fight and the dumb Rat jumping pillars. Getting better.
Sort of goofed on putting the Time on the right OBS layer, but this was sort of practice. So I'm not super worried about it.
Have to say, this game is loads of fun. I just need to remember I can jump and slash lol. I need to keep practicing for sure, but my first attempt was 59~ minutes. and this was a lil over 49~ minutes. So I am improving. Just need to keep at it.
Also, I think the final level before the Earth Mimic, you can die and move ahead in the check points. I'll test it. But might be faster dying if you actually jump ahead in the check points on that final level to meet Achi.
(Video is processing upload still. So I'll link the twitch VOD below it )
