I didn't run it for long before taking a break from it, but it was 50/50, some like in stage 1 I had visuals for, but like the merman screen before bee boss I didn't and it's what made me go super safe taking the clunk+ pause before going. So having a guide there with visuals is quite nice. Ty for adding this!

I assume it's under "genereal rules for NES" games on the rules section. But maybe for something like the reset included - does it make sense to put that in the rules, too? We have it for both CV4 and Cv2 BR oh and for Aladdin as well. Feel like that's probably easier for ppl to see and include it?

From my understanding it just means the link to your video/PB run should be permanent. So no links that expire after some time. Let's say if you dont highlight your session/run on twitch (which is permanent) the stream itself gets removed after 14 days. So if you would submit that and it expires after those 14 days that wouldnt work for submission. And for paywall: the link should take the mod to check your submission directly to your run, not to a bad site where they would have to register/pay first to see the content. :) Did that help clarify?

Submissions that are only screenshots won't make it to the board if that's what you mean. You need a video etc of the full run, rules can be found under the leaderboard. Rules are the following: "Time begins when the player presses Game Start on the title screen, and ends when the final hit is delivered to Snake Jafar. Requirements: For emulator runs, please state the name & version of the emulator used in your submission. Make sure your video starts from the point of resetting the game (no load-state allowed on emulators), and ends after the credits finish. Game audio needs to be present for the entire duration of the run. Banned emulators due to inaccurate lag emulation: zsnes snes9x 1.4x"

so afaik other emus should be fine, you can use all above the snex9x version 1.4x (Snes9x 1.53 for exp, also snesGT and bizhawk since it is using Snes9X core. I do my runs with Snes 9x 1.53 and SnesGT. :)

Yea as efm48 sad its on Walrus' Youtube channel. :) I think he means the 100% tutorial thats up on the channel and also good for most parts of the any%.

When I was six or so my dad had Castlevania IV and I loved that game. For years I didn't touch it. March this year started watching CV4 runs on Twitch, most likely the runs from Furious Paul, Joe Damillio, Hanage and DK. In June I did a Lets Play of my beloved game and since than ... I was totally infected with it again. I watched more runs and was talking lot to people who also love the game. Now I ask myself: How could I not play that game for years? :D

My name is Tinnue. I'm from germany, so sorry if my english is bad sometimes, trying to improve here. When I was 6 or so my dad had a SNES with several games. One of them was Super Castlevania IV. I loved the game when I was a kid, but for the last years I was bussy with other games and stuff. March this year I started watching CV4 runs on Twitch, most likely the top 4 runners on the actual list. At the beginning I was to shy to speak with others in chat because my english was too bad. I started talking to people and watching a lot more runs. And than it happend. Suddenly I was totally infected with that game again. I did a Lets Play few month ago. When I look at it now I am like "What did you do? Why are you so scared?" :D I'm getting better and better. But speedrunning a game is totally different and I can hardly imagine I can archieve this goal within a few month. But the wish is there ... I wanna try it. Maybe one day a sub 40 deathless run or so.

I live with two cats. Sometimes they get interested when I play and start fighting with my controller.
