I honestly have no idea what any of this means. Is the content locked behind a paywall? If you have to pay for it, pay for it. Nobody here is going to tell you how to get around paid content.

Well that depends on what the problem is.

Is your CPU maxing out when you record? Is your RAM maxing out when you record? Have you tried lowering your bitrate or recording quality to see if that helps alleviate the issue?

We can't really help you without more diagnostic information about what is happening when you record. It sounds like it's an issue with your computer's resources just off the cuff, which might be able to be fixed by lowering your quality settings.

Power cycling consoles usually resets RNG values, so preventing a power cycle might be a way to prevent runners from continuously resetting to change RNG values or anything like that. That's my best guess.

Any game specific questions need to be directed towards the community for the game (you can also view the rules on the LB for the category you're submitting to).

Any questions regarding a rejected run need to be directed towards the mods of the game in question (preferably the mod who rejected your run as they will know why they rejected it). Most runs are rejected with a reason that a mod will enter, but in the event that reason isn't there, you need to contact them and follow up with them.

You cannot use LiveSplit natively on a PS4, it is a Windows application that runs on a PC.

There is also no universal setup guide for capture cards. Every capture card is slightly different in terms of what drivers they need, or how to use them depending on a number of factors including whether it's internal or external for example. Your best bet is to break this down into steps and find online tutorials for each step:

Step 1: Find a capture card that fits your budget and look up a video on how to set it up/use it. Step 2: Find a tutorial on OBS to see how to set that up. Step 3: Find a tutorial on LiveSplit to see how to use that.

We can try to help you along the way on these forums, there are dozens of threads here on this very forum that talk about what capture cards people recommend based on budgets, but a lot of these things have much better in-depth video guides on YouTube already. Those are your best bet for learning how to configure all of this stuff together into a streaming setup. There are plenty of tweaks you can make along the way to the setup, but those are the three basic steps.

Elgato is a decent brand, but I've never heard of Roxio. Just be wary, whatever capture card you get, if it's a USB capture card, you're going to have some slight delay in the capture on your computer screen (could be upwards of a couple of seconds). This isn't a problem unless you're trying to play off the capture footage rather than a TV because, obviously, your inputs would be delayed and messed up by the delayed capture. In that scenario, you'd want to find a way to split the HDMI so you can play off an feed with no delay. Just something to keep in mind when searching for brands to buy (like I said, I would skim a few pages of this forum to find lots of posts/threads on this topic).
i don't have hours to spend on comparing load times and all that, I do a casual run maybe once a week or less, it's not like we have 30 active runners or something
This is a very poor excuse. 2 runners or 20 runners, you should always do your due diligence as a mod to make sure your boards are as accurate as possible in case an influx of runs happens. If you don't setup a board correctly now, you'll be regretting it later if you need to untangle an emulator mess then. If you don't have time, or even worse, if you just don't care, to do something as basic as research emulators to make sure they should be allowed, or to figure out if they can be compared to a regular console, then you shouldn't be a mod for that game.

The cheapest way to do so is to simply point a camera like on your phone or a webcam at the TV (or at the Switch if using a Switch Lite). If you're using a Switch Lite, this is the only option you have because that is essentially a handheld console with no HDMI output.

If you're using a regular Switch, the best way is to get an HDMI capture card and use that to capture the footage of your Switch onto your computer where you can record/stream with OBS. HDMI capture cards can have a large range in terms of price (some you can get around $100, others upwards of $350) and you may need a decent HDMI splitter (or a capture card with an HDMI pass through) if you want to play off a TV while capturing the Switch. There are dozens of threads in this forum recommending HDMI capture cards, but it usually boils down to "what is your price range?"

After doing some digging, this is like the third time you've tried to advertise this game on the general site forums @Gerarge

Please stop creating threads on this forum to advertise LBs that you moderate - these forums are not made for LB advertisements. It can be highly annoying for users to see many threads that are nothing but posts saying "please speedrun my game". While I understand wanting to grow your community, this is not the way to do it and if you haven't gotten a lot of interest up to this point, you're probably not going to get any if you continue to make threads like this.

That is honestly a very, very bad idea.

You shouldn't blindly allow emulators without properly vetting them for accuracy and functionality. If you do that, you're going to get an LB that is muddled with runs that aren't even viable to compare together, then fixing it after the fact is going to be 10x as hard because you'll have to figure out what to do with the runs if a serious problem is found (like if an emulator doesn't even load consistently as an example). I would highly recommend doing some proper comparisons of emulator before allowing something that is possibly very inaccurate.

Please don't respond to threads started by bots. It makes it harder for site staff to clean up the bots' posts (and it will leave this thread behind once the OP is deleted).

That would depend on the game and the community for that game as they all define their one rules. But in general, modifying game files of any kind is usually banned universally as that is considered cheating. But, the only definitive answer is to check with the community for the game in question.

The dates you performed a run should be irrelevant to the mods. I’ve never heard of a game that requires showing a date as required proof for a run. As long as the run follows all the normal rules for the game and category, the date you performed the run and the date you submitted it is irrelevant.

I once submitted a run like 6 months late because I forgot I highlighted it and never submitted it.

Submitting the game multiple times will not help. You need to be patient and wait for staff to check your request. They try to get to all requests within a 2-3 week period but sometimes it takes longer than that.
I hope you don't see my replies as arguments! I'm just playing around with the ideas.
“Playing Devil’s Advocate” is a fancy way of saying “I like to argue but I don’t want to seem rude about it”. What you’re doing is indeed being argumentative, because you’re not actually proposing any ideas. All you’re doing is reiterating the same thing every other user has ever said in an attempt to persuade the staff to add PVP games, and those points have been refuted for years now. So, yes, I’d wager most of us see your points as arguments because that’s all you’re doing. You agree with what people are saying, but you’re intentionally disagreeing with them, which is arguing.

All of your points boil down to somehow finding a way to justify PVP speedruns by achieving the worst possible outcome (losing) as fast as possible. That alone leads to nothing but incredibly boring runs if all you’re doing is watching a group of 100 players get in a circle and blow themselves up, or if you’re watching a group of people vote out Imposters. You’re not even watching a game at that point, nobody is really even playing a game anymore, they’re just hitting some buttons to die as quick as possible. You can’t speedrun PVP games to a win condition usually because that takes longer and it’s nearly impossible to guarantee a win of players not in your group are present. When you eliminate every aspect of what makes the game itself to just turn it into a loss, then it’s not even showing off content. Its a speedrun in the most basic form of itself, with no skill or routing. Just a VC and a group of people who don’t even want to play the game, they just want to lose.

But again, you already know this and it has been repeated many times, as you’ve mentioned. There is no devils advocate to play here. This topic has been beat to death and doing nothing but disagreeing with people for the sake of disagreeing is bound to accomplish nothing other than to annoy people.

That usually means that the mod submitted the run on behalf of a runner who didn’t want their name or video posted on the site. Sometimes mods want to list times against a runners will so listing it that way is a compromise to keep boards up to date while meeting runner wishes. You can always ask the mod before assuming it was any thing malicious.

You don’t unless you run it through Wine (I’ve heard some good, some bad about it’s performance when doing that) or you have to use LiveSplitOne which is a browser based version of LiveSplit.

If neither of those fit your bill then you’ll have to look at alternative timers. There have been many threads on Mac/Linux timers so I’m sure we could help you find an alternative if desired.
