Maryland, USAIf Colossus Boulevard% was a thing (which it won't be) this is basically the exact same route with the extra task that changes nothing almost, I don't see the point in making a category just for this sole task, it does not progress you forward in the game.
With the recent community-decided change of format to the SMOCE leaderboard, we will be approaching the SMOCE leaderboard with a new manner of category moderation.
You will notice there is a "category" called Pending, this is where newly verified categories will be placed before either meeting or failing to meet certain criteria within a reasonable time frame while giving as much exposure as possible. Runners are allowed to submit their own runs to these categories under the Pending tab. 3 runs/runners = move from Pending.
We will ONLY be adding possible new categories that are submitted through this form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1zBkQnGaDaTVz6imorzji3SQXZih8DMUEN0nYyzqZeME/viewform?edit_requested=true It is not guaranteed that your category will be verified, please refrain from submitting ideas that do not make sense, similar route to an already existing category on the leaderboard, etc. Verification will mostly be decided on other runners' input of the category (unless some show interest and do complete runs) before the decision is finalized amongst the CE mods.
We prefer Category Idea/Request threads to maintain discussion on the topic, if we see any small talk/irrelevant chatter within these threads or a single user constantly creating threads within quick succession, we will contact you directly. Please refrain from clogging people's notifications up by doing this, if you wish to extensively discuss about a category, please join our discord server.
Which mmorpgs, the bigger named ones don't have such a category. I don't see the reason for it, accessibility doesn't matter, it's usually a super short one-off task.
Seems like a lot of CE people are in disagreement with this category in the discord server. Discussion should be moved over there now that there's more people involved.
This was a community decision. Everything was discussed in the discord server, join it, check #announcements.

With the recent community-decided change on how we will be formatting the CE leaderboard and category requests from now on, half of the above is not so relevant anymore. I do ask that you please keep Category Ideas and Request threads as relevant to the category being proposed as possible in order to prevent unnecessary notifications (no small talk, irrelevant chatter or else we will delete the message/contact you directly). If you wish to have a category in mind gain more traction, it would be best to chat about it in the #category-extensions text channel in our discord server, please join it.
The announcement posted in the server mentioned already that it will be, we're still setting up the direction we're now taking with the new CE format, be patient, no need to rant about this again.
With the recent discoveries leading to only just 3 captures remaining (as far as we know all 3 are impossible to remove in vanilla Odyssey), The CE Mods and the majority of active community members (who had done Minimum Captures or planned to) in the #rule-discussions chat on the discord server have decided to remove the Minimum Captures category from the leaderboard altogether. The 2 Pokio Skip 13 Captures runs and single 9 Captures run are now added to the leaderboard sheet.
A common argument I've seen throughout this entire discussion in #rule-discussions on the discord server, "Because it can be done as a speedrun (and in some cases is "easy" like 14 captures (arbitrary in itself vs. the actual true Minimum 3 Captures as of this post)) it should have "official" subcategories on speedrun.com". You can make a category as "official" as you wish without the need of a website, a sheet is fine and even allows more options, this category already gets plenty of exposure from the few youtubers/streamers willing to try this challenge, who of which would still do this regardless of the leaderboard existing or not. There has been a decline in submitted Minimum Captures runs recently, we see the obvious popularity, but where are the runs? Is anyone else besides those few youtubers/streamers the only ones who really care enough to try this? In that case, if they cared enough to submit, why would we have a board just for one single user, because it was possibly bound to happen with 3 Captures. Our census is that with these last few Captures, this has truly become just another challenge, that of course could be done as a speedrun, but does not inquire a leaderboard on this site anymore. People do Damageless for the satisfaction of beating it, not a placement, this is now the same for Minimum Captures. This has gotten super arbitrary with every new find within the last month just for people to say "well X Captures could work as a subcategory" in order to find "viable RTA formats of "Minimum" Captures". A leaderboard on this site is no longer needed, please seek the leaderboard sheet instead and submit your runs there if you wish.
I don't see a reason to add it, the entire fight is set, spam the space bar/click spells fast to win.
The mods and I have come to a conclusion. We have decided to archive all current PBs of those who had submitted runs to 14, 11, and 10 Captures. The board is now divided into two categories: 9 Captures - As of creating this post, this is the TRUE minimum captures required in order to beat the game. 13 Captures - The most accessible/speedrunner friendly. (1P, no 1.0 tricks)

If you wish to talk about this change, I HIGHLY recommend you to direct yourself to our discord server, we have a text channel dedicated to leaderboard discussion, this is better than posting "but why...?" type comments on this forum page, it does not clutter other peoples notifications.
All Peach Moons was added then removed all in less than a month, It is the same concept with Captain Toad and I don't believe it would be considered. All Achievements is already pretty convoluted idea in itself, would there be people who are willing to do more than just a one and done, it very much resembles that of a one and done category, which we tend to remove those. @KilleDragon You read that wrong, I am not attacking how people are running the game, I don't see how you see my message like that. "fun" categories involve a player's imagination to create such categories, they think in their mind the category is good and fun to them, so they post it, sometimes without much knowledge (no testing, no actual run which is what we've always recommend to do before posting about it, etc.) but the category may not be the same to others (usually you see a lot of responses such as "this seems like a bad idea" or "the problem with this category is..."). This is shown in a lot of concepts that have been previously mentioned in these type of posts which led us to making the post that chilled the constant creation of these type of threads down. Not everyone will understand how to perceive each others ideas, you want to look at the negatives before the positives, that way you don't receive criticism towards your idea and you will know if the thread is even worth making. This is why I also prefer these type of category ideas to be shared in the discord server, to understand one's category better, extensive discussion is best in there and not here. We recommend people to seriously do a run of what they want to present, this benefits everyone.
To follow up with frozen, this keeps these type of posts more organized and gives us a reason not to delete, which is how forums should be. The categories addressed will never been seen the same for most people and instead of writing down what you want, try to think of categories other people may want. The original post has so many arbitrary rta categories (captain toad, cat mario, etc.) that they are very fond of though other people may not be, I can't see these gaining traction. I still believe one should only post suggestions that actually have a chance (if you know the game well and have a creative idea, you will know if it can possibly do well), if you're posting a category just for "fun" (coins/balloon world) I would recommend that in the discord server.

PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE DOING ATTEMPTS AND SUBMITTING, THEY ARE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS THAT ALSO LEAD TO THE GWR LANDING PAGE RULES, OTHERWISE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS OR THE SPEEDRUN.COM LEADERBOARD MODS WILL NOT VERIFY AND ACCEPT YOUR RUN (HAND-CAM IS OPTIONAL). You must complete the Mushroom Kingdom boss rematches and collect their multi-moons as fast as possible in a single segment. The runner who holds the world record during the end of the event MUST submit their run with proof to Guinness World Records into order to receive a special Guinness World Records trophy on their speedrun.com profile and get mentioned in their annual gaming records book. There has also been a #gwr chat made in the discord server if you wish to join and post your times there. Questions on the ruleset and such can also be asked and answered in this thread. GLHF.
