somebody send in a blantantly spliced run consisting out of my own run and some obsolete runs. He wanted to make a video where he "exposes" the moderator team for accepting it. :kek: We were so focused on the splice that it took me a while to see that he used my run. (ofc the run was never verified)

Plattforms are used as a search variable over the whole site, i dont know how good a ton of custom variables are for that. Honestly the option to disable showing the plattform on the leaderboard and then adding a variable with plattform/patch would do it just as well. Disabeling all plattforms currently gives a similar result to that with the downside that on the site the platform cant be searched for.

if you do the full game blindfolded, on stream at best.

thing is there isnt really competition. you either start your own site for your community or try to use what we have here.

@Timmiluvs you mean that time stamps are inaccurate or that youtube videos are inaccurate? Because youtube frame timers are commonly used.

normally you can use the time by just using the video. If ingame is used depends on the game.

I currently add ingame end dates to all runs in https://www.speedrun.com/hoi4 as variable (which is the timing method for Ingame Date). And especially in older runs which werent that good there are some missing videos. Community decision currently is to let them there. Runs which are in the top (and arent beaten by the same person) would be removed though. People especially other runners dont like it when they cant see how a world record was done, even if the record wasnt optimised.

Honestly at this point we might as well keep this tread alive and have a concentrated place where people can promote their speedgame instead of trying to necropost over a dozen different treads.

A challenge defiend by the "longest time" isnt a speedrun though @Powerofdan

maybe make a combined full game category where all maps are allowed. really helps with making games competative and SRC doesnt really show the size of games which are using level leaderboards.

about having a filler video, or a rendering video, i really dislike to see that as a mod, when i work trough the verification load and then there is in the end a video rendering or a note that the submission will be edited. I dont like that, especially when editing is useless it might as well be not in the line.

you dont have to make a segmented run per se, you can just keep track of your sum of personal bests in your runs. or better the personal best segments of the community.

It takes some time to change things again. There were fixes on the Mainpage werent there? Pretty sure it will be reworked. But having a reaction to the feedback would be appreciated, its fully understandable that people feel like talking against a wall.
